“We have had a lovely 3night break at the Kings head, very comfortable and ozzy our dog made very welcome enjoying his sausage at breakfast and cuddles from the staff. Really enjoyable, thanks to the hotel team. Will definitely revisit”

“Every member of the team at the Kings Head was excellent, so very welcoming and friendly, we had a lovely, lovely time, Thank You all. It was so good to feel that our dog Jake was welcome too, infact he was thoroughly spoilt throughout and enjoyed his stay as much as we did, it was so good to be able to have him with us at breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent too. We'll definitely be booking again and plan to check out other hotels in the group too, the team at Richmond definitely set the bar very high”

“The Kings Head is a fantastic hotel in a very good location in the market square in the middle of Richmond. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Our room was comfortable, lovely toiletries, I especially liked the pillow spray! The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice, quality ingredients and tasted fantastic. We ate in most nights as the food was so good! Our dog had loads of fuss and enjoyed the attention, she love the ball she found in our room and the biscuits went down well, she also was given the odd sausage at breakfast. This was the first time we had stayed in a dog friendly hotel and it won’t be the last if they all as good as this one! Look forward to going back sometime!”

“From the minute we arrived everything was spot on, lovely friendly helpful staff who genuinely made a huge fuss of our two dogs (Penny & Rex) and us as well. The hotel is well placed for everything Richmond has to offer, river walks were beautiful as was the amazing views from the old racecourse which offered vast open spaces for the dogs to run. Food was excellent value and all meals were accompanied by smiling, friendly staff. Our room was comfortable and spacious and very quiet which meant the dogs weren’t disturbed by a lot of passing feet so we’re very well behaved. Have booked to go to Malton for twixmas and have high hopes that we will not be disappointed……highly recommend both Kings Head Hotel and Pets Pyjamas for a fuss free trip.”

“Stayed with a party of 8 for my husbands 60th Birthday. From the moment we arrived until we left was fabulous. The staff are just amazing. So pleasant and very hard working. Rooms, food, service were excellent. Thank you making our weekend wonderful. This, was down to all the staff at the hotel. Will definitley return.”

“My wife and I plus small dog stayed for a weekend in the King's Head on a recent trip to Yorkshire. Richmond is a lovely market town with a good selection of small interesting shops, pubs and cafes. There is a large market place/square with cobbled streets leading off it – there is a castle in the centre of the town and a river with unusual waterfalls. Richmond is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales so a great base for sightseeing. The Kings Head is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and is very dog friendly. The hotel is an old building with oodles of history which has been tastefully refurbished, the bedrooms and upper floors are sumptuous and ‘olde worlde’ while the ground floor is bright and modern and tastefully decorated. There is an open-plan bar/foyer area where you can have a drink or dine in a comfortable setting, there is also a separate restaurant. The staff were young and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and they made our dog really welcome. We dined in the hotel both evenings - the menu was varied and the food delicious. Breakfast was great too. There is a secure hotel car park and we were able to reserve a space for the duration of our stay for only £20. We would happily return to the King's Head for another visit and cannot recommend it highly enough.”

“A dog friendly hotels that really cares about its four legged guests, from doggy treats at the bar to sausages for breakfast. All the staff were caring and attentive and we were really made to feel at home. Despite the rainy weather we had some wonderful walks in beautiful countryside .”

“This was our first holiday away with our new 10 month old Cockapoo and we had the best time. Lovely hotel and wonderfully friendly staff who immediately put us at ease with our pooch and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful room, huge comfy bed, fab toiletries and tea/coffee making products and the chocs and puppy treats were a lovely touch! Would highly recommend the food too and being able to eat with puppy by our side was so stress free it made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. Will definitely be revisiting again soon! X”
