Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The only drawback I have to advise of is, when the weather is hot as I have just experienced the rooms become like a sauna. As its a listed building aircon can't be installed but a fan was provided in the room.

“Lovely hotel.The room was well furnished.Plenty of areas to dine with your dog. The food was very good.But most importantly the staff were very friendly and obviously loved dogs. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay with your 4 legged friend.”

“Lovely hotel, such kind and helpful staff. They made us and our dog feel very welcome. There was a treat pack for the dog on arrival and he was made welcome in the bar and in the room at the front for diners with dogs. Thirsk is a lovely little market town, a bit disappointed that dogs were not allowed in the James Herriot museum and vet practice- ! . There is a lovely field and riverside walk just a stones throw from the hotel and the whole town is generally very dog friendly.The only problem was that the bedroom was very hot and stuffy, but a fan was provided and it was 30C outside!”

“From the warm greeting to the incredible food, The Golden Fleece Hotel did not disappoint. It was our pup's first holiday and he relished the attention - and doggy breakfast sausages - from the hotel staff. We will be booking for a return visit. Fantastic!”

“Would highly recommend this hotel . We stayed three nights with our little dog and had a great time . Staff very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them - made a great fuss of our dog ! Room was nice and clean and comfortable and the food there very nice - ate in the hotel every night and with our deal had B and B and one evening three course meal - good value from pets n pjs. Would definitely book with them again and if ever up in thirsk again would stay at the Golden Fleece . Thirsk very central for the north moors/coast and also the dales - we aimed for Thirsk as husband wanted to visit the Herriot museum . Also goody bag for dog left in our room .”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I have Coeliac disease, so need gluten free. The chef was hugely accommodating, so I had a really good choice of meals.

“Set in the Heart of Thirsk, in the quaintly cobbled marketplace, The Golden Fleece still manages peace and tranquillity. Our room was beautiful! We especially appreciated the variety of treats and the lovely bath products. Beulah was very appreciative of her goody bag too! Breakfasts were excellent, as were the 3 evening meals we had. All staff were welcoming and friendly and made such a fuss of our girl - so many treats and, of course, sausage breakfast! A huge park area lies just beyond the car park where dogs are allowed to run free. We shall definitely be returning!”

“Stayed for one night only but we were very impresses with the room, the staff and the catering (evening meal and breakfast). High quality food in a relaxed, friendly and stylish dining room area and lounges. Our room was clean, tidy with nice storage areas, a comfortable bed and an excellent little features such as a nespresso machine and a range of tea and coffee. Our little dog was very welcome and the room was suitable for her. Staff were welcoming and helped us efficiently with our enquiries. The staff also didn't make it feel like a big deal that our dog was staying with us, which meant a lot to us. Thank you for a great stay.”

“We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 2 adults, 2 children and a dog and had a lovely time. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and attentive and our dog received a lot of much appreciated fuss and welcome treats. Thirsk is a really nice place to stay and there’s a variety of things to do in the area. We could have stayed much longer. Thank you to the Golden Fleece and Pets Pyjamas!”
