“This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel with our Airedale. The hotel is very welcoming to both its human and doggy guests. The rooms are clean and comfy and the food is excellent. Enjoyed both an evening meal and breakfast with our dog. All the staff were fantastic and made us very welcome. We will be returning in 2023.”

“What a great experience! Room was lovely, staff lovely and the hotel is central in the Town so great location . We will definitely be back, we had breakfast and evening meal with the puppy in the bar area and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. If your dog is well behaved and likes other dogs go and visit!”

“Whilst I rarely write reviews the exemplary service from the staff at the Golden Fleece who actually made my wife, myself and especially our dog very welcome at their hotel deserve to be recognised. in addition, the food was excellent, perfect cooked breakfast to order not precooked keeping tepid like most hotels nowadays. The room had everything one could wish for including a very comfortable bed. So congratulations to the staff and management at the Golden Fleece and our thanks to PetsPyjamas for organising the trip - so nice to talk to actual helpful people.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? All staff were good but the two ladies that looked after us at dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing.

“A one night stay on our way to Scotland but will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer stay. All the staff we had dealings with were absolutely fantastic. Probably some of the best staff we've come across. 5* staff in a 3* hotel. We also decided to eat in and what a surprise as the food was amazing and much better than you would normally get in a 3* hotel. The room we had was clean and comfortable and ideal for someone travelling with a furry friend. The only negative is if you have a sound sensitive hound, as the room we had was next to the main door to the mews and stairs. On the positive very easy to pop out with your dog for the call of nature. Finally the hotel arranged things so we could dine with our dog and they even catered for our four legged friend at breakfast with a special dog sausage. All in all a highly recommended venue.”

“Just come back from a 3 for 2 night stay with pets pyjamas at this venue. All the staff were very friendly & all fussed our old lad Murphy. We were put on the second floor as we'd booked a superior double, not ideal but it was fine kept us fit going up & down the stairs. The room was plenty big enough for us & our dog. With complimentary tea, coffee & few a goodies for us & a little treat bag for Murphy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable & we enjoyed roaming around the village at various times of the day. The food was amazing from breakfast, & we had an afternoon tea booked for the Saturday we arrived & it was yummy. We also booked a dinner for Sunday which was included in our booking which it was the best Sunday lunch we'd had at a pub for a long time. Would definitely recommend this venue for a short break.”

“Advertised as dog friendly, but told on arrival that dog only allowed in bar and lounge with no table service. Room much smaller than on photos, when we queried it staff member just laughed and said they were full. Food is good-especially breakfast Bar area is soulless-like sitting in a corridor.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Pets Pyjamas 3 nights for the price of 2 is excellent value especially when you have a 3 course meal included.Food was very good.

“We really enjoyed our stay at The Golden Fleece , Thirsk . The hotel has a lovely atmosphere , staff were brilliant . We could have our two dogs with us all the time.”
