Did you feel your stay was good value for money? no
Room was not ready until after 5, only had hand towels & when I asked I was informed they were on the way (never came) hotel was very dated although the room was good apart from no bedside table on one side & no bedside lights on either, breakfast was good except when I asked for bread for the toaster it came piping hot straight from freezer to microwave.

We had a 2 night stay with our dog. Really enjoyed it. Nice room, comfortable and clean. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and was allowed in the bar and dining area which was great. Lovely breakfast. Bar meals were good value. Definitely going to visit again next year.

Very spacious, clean and friendly. Dogs allowed in the bar/restaurant. There is quite a few stairs which could be a problem for older or injured dogs. Only downside is that it is right on the side of a busy main road with no land to walk your pupster for toilet duty.

I decided to take my corgi Tilly with me on a short break to the Peak District, and when researching places to go, stumbled on this pub, on the outskirts of Hathersage. It was perfect! I chose to take the train to Hathersage from London, do a big circular walk from Hathersage to Stanage Edge and Higger Tor, before finishing up at the pub. First up, the staff were lovely and friendly, making a fuss of my dog, without being too much. They even brought out a bowl of treats for her at breakfast, which was a really lovely gesture. The rooms were clean, modern and inviting, and my room had a lovely view where you could see the hills and valleys across the road. I really liked that the floors were wood(ish?), because it meant I didn't have to worry as much if my dog was muddy, as they'd be easy to clean. I decided to have dinner at the pub, as my dog was a bit too exhausted to take into town. It was a great idea! The pub/restaurant had clearly been recently done up and it had a really nice, warm and inviting feel to it. I ordered steak frites with peppercorn sauce, with big portions for just £10, and my total bill was just £24 for an Orchard Thieves Cider, steak frites, a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, and a raspberry gin and tonic. Breakfast was included, which was great. For breakfast, I chose not to have anything cooked (just my preference), but they also had a good selection of continental options, with cereal, toast, jams, nutella, and butter, along with a selection of juices. Filled with breakfast, I was on my way back to Hathersage. I had a lovely stay, and would highly recommend these guys.
