The location is perfect, the views were stunning, particularly from the terrace on the first floor. The hotel is a little tired and the food was limited and extremely average. Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. With a few tweaks this could be a 5

Although sadly we lost our little dog before going to Millstone we could see that all dogs staying there were warmly welcomed as we were by all the staff including Barney the managers own Labrador.Food very good and room was very clean and well fitted out and comfortable. No complaints and would recommend this property for future patrons and dogs .

A perfect location and could be so much more ! Staff warmed up eventually but not a warm welcome at first! Food was OK but a limited choice 2 lovely fires but we was told we couldn't have them on as the chimney was blocked We made the best of it , great area for walks, just a few bits need some TLC

We had our first trip to the Peak District and stayed at Millstone Country Inn for 4 nights. We had a warm welcome to this fully dog friendly hotel where Dine with Dog means exactly that. The Hotel is well situated for visiting the surrounding area and also highlighted a few walks close to the hotel. Our room was comfortable and adequate for our needs. The restaurant was good and lounge was very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a meal. The added benefit of a real fire in both made them really warm and cosy. Jason, Marie and Josh were very welcoming and did their absolute best to ensure that we and all their guests had a very enjoyable stay. Even where my wife’s dietary restrictions can cause issues this was no problem for this team who were more than happy to help in this area. Jason and the team work very hard and put their heart and souls into running this hotel and are a real credit to the business. They made our visit more like visiting family/friends and we will certainly be going back; in fact, our little dog Clemmy enjoyed it so much she had withdrawals for the first 48 hours that we were home. Thanks again Jason and the team for a fabulous time. Grace Clive and Clemmy

Great welcome, negatives: room on second floor with access to dog toilet area across a busy road . Managing dogs and bags to 2nd floor not easy up 2 flights of stairs. No Wi-Fi available, bed uncomfortable. Positives: friendly staff cannot fault and dogs welcome, great food.

We had a great time at the Millstone Inn, the staff were really friendly and the fact we could take our dog and still feel comfortable was worth its weight in gold. The local walks were perfect, scenery was stunning too. The hotel food was good, the hotel is old and needs a bit of modernising, but was perfect for our long weekend stay.

When we got to the hotel, we didn’t realise it was on the main road of a very sharp bend and the car park is across the road so quite treacherous with dogs arriving at the hotel. The staff were friendly enough, but we found the rooms to be very very basic and not in good repair there was no real comforts for the dogs no dog bowls in the room. to be felt a little misled as was expecting a more for the money. I would say the only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast. To be honest we wouldn’t return.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and lovely food. Myself, my daughter and our puppies loved our stay, couldn’t have asked for anything to be any better. Lovely place - we’ll be back that’s for sure.
