“My husband and I took our Mini Schnauzer to the Fat Fox Inn for a two night stay - when I saw the package and what was included on Pets Pyjamas, I had to double check as it all seemed too good to be true! We had the Barking Britain package which included breakfast (plus a sausage for our dog!) both mornings, as well as a two course evening meal on both nights! The food was delicious - clearly home-cooked - and we found a lovely bottle of wine in the room as well as some treats for our pup. The staff were brilliant throughout - our dog was able to stay with us for our meals too which was much appreciated as he can suffer with separation anxiety. We had some lovely walks in the surrounding Chilterns, and found Watlington to be a lovely, friendly little village. We will certainly return!”

“We stayed at The Fat Fox Inn for 2 nights. We were greeted by friendly staff. The pub had a very warm and relaxed atmosphere. Our room was clean and there was enough space for the three of us. There was a large garden area behind our room which was perfect for our dog.”

“The food is next level, the welcome warm. Nothing was too much trouble, even when we asked for margaritas (we'd never have guessed they were the first ones Rob had ever made if he hadn't told us). Treats for the pup, and perfectly located to explore Henley and the surrounding countryside.”

“What a lovely place. Everyone was welcoming and the food was amazing will definitely be back. Plenty of time walks to do with our dog. Thank you so much for a fab stay. I have not been anywhere before that had such a warm welcome for our fur baby x”

“Lovely 3 night stay at the Fat Fox where we were booked in for Zbed, breakfast and dinner. Very friendly staff and we was all made to feel very welcome. Hector got a ball and some chews. Food meals and Hector was offered a sausage for breakfast which he loved. Lovely town”

“Stayed for two nights in their family room. Very comfortable bed and good shower. Room was basic but very adequate. Had two lovely meals that were reasonably priced too. Very friendly in lovely village”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Just disappointed that this place features on the website as a recommended place but there is nothing special about it in terms of dog friendly.

“I was excited to visit after reading a previous review about how dog friendly the Fat Fox Inn would be as it was our puppy's first trip away. Unfortunately the dog was not even acknowledged which is fine but not what I expected after being recommended on the website as dog friendly experience with dog treats in rooms, breakfast sausages and lots of fuss. I did overhear a few times that there are now new owners so think it has changed from being known for being very dog friendly. We booked a family room and it was very very cramped as a put up bed was put at the bottom of the double bed leaving very little room for myself, partner, daughter and the dog. I was disappointed as I booked through this website as it was promoted as dog friendly but this is what it definitely lacked. It honestly could have been any pub / restaurant which is a shame as was pups first time away and although dogs were allowed I wouldn't say they are welcomed.”
