Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would not recommend this hotel
We were disappointed by the poor organisation, and standard of the hotel. It’s tired and needs a lot of TLC to bring it up to standard. The grounds are not dog friendly, unless you have a guide dog

Just returned from a 2 night stay which we and our dog enjoyed very much. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff, the hotel was very comfortable and just a short stroll to the beach. Thoroughly recommend The Northfield.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? As dogs aren't allowed in the garden it would have been nice to be told about the garden and walk just down the road. Luckily I found it on the second day.
Nice quiet location. Found somewhere to walk my dog just down the road 100 yds, just as well as dogs are not allowed in the garden which was a bit disappointing. Staff very good, food just right for the time of year. The dog friendly eating area was really just tables in the wider part of a corridor to 6 rooms but given how hot hotels are it was good to have windows to open beside where we sat.

Lovely peaceful place, hotel staff are very welcoming, however cleanliness needs to be seen to. There were cobwebs in most lampshades across the dining areas, large spiders on ceiling noticed whilst eating, carpets going upstairs to rooms muddy, and needs stick refill in bar as most drinks were out of stock. Bedroom was large, great beds, cobwebs again in lampshades on ceiling and windows. We enjoyed our stay,as we wanted to get away from the busy city life, but all stops at 8pm(shops,cafes,restaurants) which was very surprising. We had the New Years Eve menu, which was an absolute disappointment, stating pan fried prawns, and were given tiny prawns from a bag on toast, followed by defrosted chicken breast which tasted of water with a tin of tomato on top! Desert was nice with a lemon cheese cake! My 12 year old was starving at 8.30pm and having nowhere else to go to we asked for some food, the lovely staff were so kind and brought him a great plate of bacon, sausages and toast which was the BEST meal he could have had, thank you again to your them! It has beautiful views, lovely gardens and allows dogs in the bar area which was great.
