What a fabulous place to stay with your dogs, they are really welcome (not just tolerated) Extremely friendly staff and owner. Food to die for, absolutely delicious, hospitality could not be faulted.

Beautiful setting for this lovely cosy country hotel. Comfortable room with lots of extras left out for us and the dogs which was lovely. This hotel is absolutely dog friendly and our pair of retriever's were welcomed warmly by the owner and other staff and joined us for dinner and breakfast. The chef created delicious meal and the lovely waitress looked after us well throughout. We enjoyed the outside bar and shopped in the farm shop. Breakfast was excellent with so much choice. We will be looking forward to staying again and highly recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable room, friendly welcome, excellent food and our dog was the guest of honour. Well located in a beautiful valley, close to nearby beauty spots. First time we've used this website but won't be the last.

Just spent a lovely 3 day break here with our Italian Spinone. We had 3 evening meals and 3 breakfasts and all were excellent. Our room was warm and cosy with a lovely view over a stream and woods. We loved the treats in our room: a variety of handmade soaps and shampoos from the Cosy Cottage company and a bottle of blackcurrant gin for us; a bed, bowls, towels, tin of treats and Cosy Cottage dog shampoo for our girl. All staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful and Covid safety measures were fully in place. We most certainly will be back!

Unfortunately our stay wasn’t as enjoyable as we were hoping. The staff and food were very good, but our room was much too small for us and two dogs, we had to put their bowls in the bathroom as there wasn’t enough room for them in the bedroom. We had for toilet rolls as they had been missed when the room was ‘cleaned’. I had to clean the top of the wobbly wardrobe myself after getting covered in thick dust when pulling a bag down. I also had to clear the plug in the bathroom of chopped onions! Our dogs were welcome everywhere, even the dining room. A bonus for us as we didn’t want to leave them in the room. Whilst we enjoyed our stay in Whitby and thought the staff were very friendly, the hotel itself looks dated and in need of updating, particular the decor which made it look very dark and wasn’t finished to a very good standard.

We celebrated our friends 50th here recently and from the moment we arrived we were treated fantastically, cozy rooms beautiful open fires and set in the most amazing location. Our dogs were made to feel at home and as a party of four foodies I can tell you the food is amazing! We will definitely be back sooner rather than later !
