Nothing too much trouble, a warm welcome for you & your canine companion in this beautiful location. Excellent accommodation and fantastic food. Little touches, like doggy biscuits and treats, and including treats for owners too make your stay extra special Would go back again

We booked through PetsPyjamas and chose the Barking Britain package that included, a 2-night stay in a dog-friendly room. Full breakfast each morning with a sausage for your dog. 3 course dinner on one evening, including pre dinner cocktail in the hotel's relaxed fine dining restaurant with your dog allowed in the dining room, a £10 voucher to spend in the hotel's farm shop, handmade local dog treats and dog shampoo bar in your room BOOM The use of doggie extras at the hotel – bed and bowls, and access to 24/7 emergency vet line during your trip worth £20 BOOM We had a lovely stay at The Horseshoe Inn 7 miles inland from Whitby BOOM There was confusion on our arrival as the staff did not seem to know what they were doing BOOM The room was small but ok for our needs BOOM In general there was a cool ambience to the place BOOM A mixture of old worldly rustic and bodge it style BOOM The idea of a Coffee machine in place of a kettle did not work for us tea drinkers BOOM As for breakfast we have had better BOOM We only had one doggy sausage between our two dogs this was not a problem as they had ours BOOM The 3 course dinner was the highlight of the stay thought there was no mention of the cocktails and we had to explain that it was a complementary dinner BOOM We had planned to have the dinner on the second evening BOOM We were informed that we had to have it on the first night as there was a function on the second night BOOM We used the £10 voucher in the farm shop run by the lovely Jodie very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable BOOM The dog beds and bowls were a nice touch BOOM Would we go again I very much doubt it BOOM If you are wandering what all the BOOM’s are then so are we they went on all evening until about 11 o’clock and started again at about 7 am BOOM!

Dear Frank, we are sorry that your trip to The Horseshoe Inn did not go to plan at all, and was such a disappointing experience. We pride ourselves not only on our wonderful Pet Concierge Team, but also the fantastic properties we work with so we are let down to know we failed you on this occasion. Generally, our customers have a really good time at The Horseshoe Inn (as you might be able to see from the reviews on our website), and they leave wanting to book their next pet-friendly break with us right away! Please accept our apologies for the fact that this is not what happened on this occasion, and rest assured we have passed your comments onto the team there and will continue to work closely with them, ensuring everything is as good as it should be.

Our reception at the Horsehoe Inn was warm and the food was good. However the rooms were very poor, small and tired

This cosy hotel is set in glorious scenery with dog walks available from the front door as well as a short drive away. My Cockapoo and I walked on the moors, through the forest and on the beach. When we returned to the hotel each night it was to a lovely meal and a comfortable room. Breakfast was great and set us up each day, my dog who is a fussy eater really liked her daily breakfast sausage. The owners have dogs themselves and there were other guests with dogs so the Horseshoe really is dog friendly. As an added bonus I bought some food from the farm shop to bring home to remind me of my very enjoyable trip.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Go and make a booking here. Its a proper dog loving country hotel.
The welcome was fantastic. Craig is a brilliant host. From the moment we entered the Hotel our dogs were pampered. This is a proper dog welcoming place. Its nice to be allowed to take the dogs into the restaurant. All meals were excellent. The room was great with the dogs fully catered for. The Bar was superb with a variety of real ales. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and went out of their way to go the extra mile. Our dogs had a really great break as well. Sausage for breakfast! We are going to visit again and are already looking forward to it.

Had a lovely few days here. Staff super friendly and helpful, food excellent, rooms well equipped and very dog friendly. Great location for visiting the area. No hesitation in recommending to others (unless they want to go at the same time as when I want to go back!).

A lovely old hotel brimming with Christmas warmth and cheer. We enjoyed a 3 for 2 special staycation and enjoyed a comfortable room, super fine dining experience, log fires and friendly service.

Fantastic!! We arrived late in the evening, but received a very warm welcome and were in time for a drink in the bar. The bar staff were extremely friendly and gave us some good tips on places to visit with the dogs. Our room was very comfortable. The dogs had beds, bowls, treats, shampoo and towels! Breakfast and dinner were amazing. the quality of the food was outstanding. dogs are allowed in the bar and restaurant. The hotel is situated in the most idyllic setting, with beautiful walks on the doorstep. The owner was very friendly as were all the staff. There is also a farm shop selling delicious food and beautiful gifts. We will be returning.
