Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? this was my first booking made with PetsPyjamas and will be using yourselves again
Just back from a wonderful stay at the Horseshoe Hotel. On my arrival received a friendly welcome and found a lovely arrangement of treats (cheese, bread, honey & cake slices) for me and a bowl of doggie biscuits for Mist in the room. The food was good and in fact the Yorkshire breakfast filled you up for the day and Mist enjoyed his daily sausage with my egg. The location of the hotel meant I did not have to drive anywhere, as there are plenty of walks including the Esk Valley trail and train & bus services to Whitby from the village. As the hotel only has 6 rooms, you could easily talk to other guests while eating or relaxing in the bar area and receive suggestions on places to walk too or visit. It was great seeing all the dogs in the morning enjoying their sausages. The hotel's farm shop was a great place to get items used in the hotel - marmalade, chutney, cheese, etc. A great place to pick up items if you think you would be hungry between your breakfast and evening meals. I would easily go back to the Horeshoe Hotel for another stay.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? A place with it's own atmosphere, brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant. Very dog friendly, not a Witherspoon's, it's a 18th-century pub in the middle of nowhere. Still has many of the original features. Food was excellent, walks magnificent. We are definitely going back , pretty soon I hope. Everyone was so welcoming and Keira loved every minute of it.

This hotel is set in a beautiful village with walks and a stream nearby. Very friendly welcome and very dog friendly. The room and bed were comfortable. We wondered why there was a jar of ear plugs on the bedside table - we found out the next morning. As it was a hot weekend when we stayed, our window was open all night and we were woken by the sound of cockerels crowing which continued at length! A lovely countryside sound but may annoy some people who stay! The breakfast was gorgeous with sausages for our dogs as an extra treat. Fab food and drink - would definitely stay again.

Had the most amazing stay at the Horseshoe Hotel. The room was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect for us and our dogs. The food was excellent and they even had treats and snacks for our dogs which was extremely kind. We loved it so much we booked to go again in a few months 5 stars!!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We walked in and back out without seeing a soul. We were refused the money back as we had not cancelled early enough but we were not to know what the place was like before arriving. We'll take more notice of reviews next time
So sorry that I cannot give a full review. Maybe I'm being a little unkind . We only walked through the door and decided the place needed a good lick of paint and then a total refurb. There's rustic and there's scruffy. Windows propped open with pieces of wood and scruffy old curtains is not a good look to start with.

A great hotel that is both welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was amazing! Room was very comfortable with a bed and treats for the dog. A lovely outside garden and bar area to sit and enjoy. No alarm clock necessary as the friendly cockerel was available. A very enjoyable stay.

The Horseshoe Hotel is set in a beautiful area of North Yorkshire. However, although dogs, except for the kitchen of course, could go everywhere, the building itself is poorly maintained and there is a distinct obviousness that their B&B part of the business is not a priority. It's their foot through during the day. Our room was big enough, however, everything did not look cared for which included curtains hanging off the rail, no towels, shower head badly needing a descale, staff clearing enjoying themselves in the bar after closing time and the bedrooms being directly above and hearing everything that is being said, paint flaking off the doors and having to use a Tassimo machine to heat water for a cuppa. However, it could be a gold mine if the B&B side was a priority. They did provide a jar of biscuits and bowls for the dog in the room. We were glad that we brought our pooch’s basket as there was some kind of mat provided but being an old man, he would have struggled to survive the night on the wood floorboards and fine carpet without him suffering the following the next day had that been what we would have had to rely on. For the amount paid it was comparable to a Premier Inn-type place, and to which we would have gone instead, had they allowed doggies, and we would not have minded paying for breakfast on top.
