The hotel was beautiful and so great how dog friendly it was. Our boys enjoyed their treats and their beds for the night. The restaurant food was surprisingly good, but we expected the worse due to one of the staff members not having his head in his work. The grounds are beautiful, the surrounding area is nice but once you have been on the main walks which can be done in one day there isn’t much else to do with dogs.

Staff were lovely, room clean and comfortable just a bit noisy from taps being turned on and off in other rooms, doors banging, footsteps overhead. Fantastic walks on the doorstep all dog friendly. Food was ok, service on the whole good. I would recommend it if you are looking for a dog friendly hotel.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Our dog managed to seduce the staff to get given a sausage and a hiker breast among with multiple dog biscuits. He will be making sure we come back.
The hotel is a little bit out of the way from the main tourist spots but that was a good thing on a very busy bank holiday weekend. Our dog got treated like a king and there is a nice beach a few minutes drive from the hotel that he loved running along. Lake Windermere is only 20 minutes away as well and we enjoyed climbing Gummers Howe to get a nice view. The hotel is not five star luxury but it was exactly what we wanted and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A nice quiet comfortable room. Thank you.

We were booked for 2 nights under the Love of Dogs Package with our 2 dogs. When we arrived a wedding was about to start, when I queried why I had not been told beforehand I was told the "the hotel is primarily a wedding venue hotel" We were given a key for a room on the 1st floor - not ground like Pets Pyjamas states. No dog beds, no water bowls, no special treats at all. The room was shabby and overlooked the car park, the bathroom had no bath but plenty of black mould on the tiled shower. The toilet did not flush adequately. We choose not to stay, I've actually stayed in better quality chain hotels. So, no, I do not recommend The Dunes if you have dogs or are looking for a nice room with cosy features.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We would return here with our dog.
Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was no service to the room but we were told we could request room service if required. Lincoln our dog was made very welcome and treated to a cooked sausage every morning.

We arrived at the dunes to find the room basic a dog bed was provided and a fog bowls and a couple of chews. The staff made a fuss of the dogs but they didn’t know what they sold and the service was a bit slow in the restaurant if the little things are improved it was be a cracking restaurant xx

The hotel itself is beautiful. We were really happy with the room and how accommodating they were for the dog. The set up they have for dining is great as you don’t feel like you’re being shoved out the way because of the dog. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great! Having worked in hospitality myself for many years I am sometimes a little too critical of the customer service provided at places. However, I don’t think this was the case in this instance as it was the very simple things that were missing and I’m know other tables also had problems. Things like being asked for your order before even being provided a menu! The wait staff were very slow, and seemed extremely unorganised, with not much communication with each other. The kitchen was an open pass, meaning we could hear all communications between the kitchen and floor staff, which at times was very unprofessional, with shouting and swearing coming from the kitchen. The food was your average pub grub, nothing special but we enjoyed it. We would have had desserts if we were offered them but once our mains were cleared we were a bit forgotten about. We basically had to ask/prompt for anything whether it be a menu, to order our drinks etc, which personally I don’t think should be the case, and it wasn’t like they were very busy either. Breakfast both mornings was how we expected it to be after our evening dining experience. Slow service, and again, I was asked for an order before seeing a menu, when I asked if I could see a menu the response was ‘you’re looking at it!’ Continuing with ‘Full English or Vegetarian Full English’ There was a small selection of around 3 cereals or a yoghurt for continental. For what we paid for I don’t really think this was very good value for morning. Overall the hotel itself was lovely, a nice environment, decor and feel and from that aspect I can understand the price, however the food offerings and customer service definitely let it down. The staff were friendly enough, just not very well trained or organised.
