The staff all very friendly and attentive to myself and the dogs. Little treats on the table so the dogs didn't disturb our meal. The room was warm and cosy.

Gorgeous reception where there's a wood burner making you feel instantly at home... Norman (our one year old Irish wheaten terrier was welcomed by the lady on reception with 'happy birthday Norman!) Lovely touches throughout our stay. They're allowed to go everywhere except for the terrace (conservatory) which didn't bother us one bit. Because the bar and restaurant areas were gorgeous. And that means a lot to us. We felt included along with all the other guests... Room gorgeous (exec double) ground floor so easy get out but he never woke all night! Chef on Friday was so attentive I had a special request .. vegetarian and low fat. And he made it feel effortless. The meal trio of sausage (veggie obvs) spring mash and red onion gravy with veg was the best meal I'd had for a while!! My partner had the steak. Also gorgeous (he tells me)... Staff attentive throughout our two night stay. All very dog friendly which made us feel very much at home. The sand dunes are about 25min walk but the road can get narrow. So a five min drive would do the trick too... Definitely recommend !!

Lovely hotel very friendly We stayed in room 11 after asking for a larger TV and this was not a problem . The only thing I would add as it was the staffs entrance as we were round the back privacy blind would’ve been much better as we were unable to leave the curtains open and also the window open as it did not have no restrictor on it

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Truly dog friendly. Dining with our dog was perfect, they even introduced a dog menu tge last evening we were there.
This was our first break away with out Border Terrier, Molly who is only 9 months. We couldn't have had a better first experience of a holiday with our fur baby, it will be very difficult to beat. Hotel is beautiful and staff are all lovely. Food was delicious. Thank you so much!

Good breakfast, nice staff very welcoming. We booked a room that was upgraded and it was clean but flooring in bathroom was very poor. Poor sealant and has a hole covered in the floor! Yes it was dog friendly - little touches like a dog bowl and you could go into breakfast etc but outside especially when raining no where to go with them. No cover either. But too isolated as Dunes at beach meant a walk on a narrow road with dogs that we didn’t do as but safe. Shops around 3 miles away by car. We actually came home a day/night early :(( so that was a waste of money. Quite expensive for what you get. Won’t be going back though in the future. Shame

Recently stayed at The Dunes with my gsd and a friend’s two greyhounds. This hotel claims to be dog friendly and exceeded that promise. We (including our hounds) all had a relaxed, no hassle, comfortable stay. The staff were all genuinely ‘dog friendly’ and they couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. The food was very good - sausages too were readily available for the hounds at breakfast! Our rooms on the ground floor were clean, easily accessed, spacious and comfortable. Parking was no hassle. The field opposite (whilst not enclosed) is highly accessible and perfect for a good run. The National Trust beach a short distance away is a ‘dog heaven’. Would recommend The Dunes to any dog owner looking for a welcomed break with their hound(s).

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? There were a few reactive dogs staying which wasn’t ideal, but the hotel can’t be blamed for that
We stayed at The Dunes October 24 with our Irish setter. The hotel was immaculate and rooms very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was low on bookings when we stayed but the staff were still very attentive and we never felt rushed to eat or to finish our drinks early on an evening. They were also very good with our dog and we felt very comfortable. Zoe was particularly professional and very friendly. The grounds of the hotel are nice and I bet in spring/summer it’s an even better place to stay as the outside area had great views with lots of outdoor seating. Roanhead beach took us 20 minutes to walk to and this was a fantastic beach. All in all we will definitely be back in the better weather, and no doubt back again out of season to enjoy the beach to ourselves. We didn’t particularly enjoy Barrow but we did really like Ulverston and Great Urswick. Dalton also has some nice pubs and is accessible from Roanhead Beach. The Trainline was extremely efficient and useful. Everywhere we went was exceptionally welcoming and friendly.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic!! Upon arrival B received a treat and belly rub the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, welcoming and very professional. Charlotte and the team clearly enjoy their roles. I cannot thank them enough. The food was amazing, B enjoyed her treats and was more than happy with her regular belly rubs. A truly pampered pooch. I have raved about this hotel to everyone!! 10/10
