Did you and your dog receive a warm welcome? No
Did you feel your stay was good value for money? No
Upon arrival everything seemed ok. We got to our room, dated but clean (mostly). We went down to the pool and sauna, this was the best bit! Quiet even on a friday night and it was great. Hot tub was foamy…. so we didn’t attempt that. We ordered room service which came 90 minutes after we ordered, cold. Then went to sleep, at 6am we were woken by the fire alarm, again at 6:30am and again shortly after. Not impressed as this was not a real alarm. Staff were uncoordinated and uncommunicative. I then had to argue with reception for some sort of compensation for all of the above before leaving

Spent one night here, whole place looks very tired and dated with numerous broken fittings etc. Staff were pleasant but not especially enthusiastic, there was a wedding on at the time which meant we couldn't eat in the dog-friendly bar area, the restaurant was dog-unfriendly (although not sure why as I've been in posher canteens). Food was average, disappointing that the menu supplied at the bar was different to that available in the restaurant (much less choice). Not recommended

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We are unlikely to book through Pets Pyjamas again as when we arrived at the hotel they had no record of our booking, and said they don't always come through. Luckily they had a room for us
The hotel is absolutely fine for a short stay and very dog friendly. They were helpful as when we got there they had no record of our booking, but found us a room anyway

Very comfortable room, with patio out to lawn and lake for doggy's comfort. Friendly staff all made a fuss of Missy the dog. Food excellent, cheerfully served whether with or without the dog. Pleasant walks round the lake and open grass area for off lead runs. Only problem we had was the EV charging point was out of order until the last evening of our stay which restricted what we could do.

Nice place to stay when on holiday with your dog. We had a spacious double bed room with plenty of space for our dog, a golden retriever, to move around and find her space to stay. Decor was a bit dated but clean and tidy, just the mattress was way to soft and you could feel every spring and you got this roll-in-the-middle effect but we did sleep well. Extra fan for cooling was very welcoming as it was quite hot. Our dog loved the dog reception and happily tried the biscuits on offer. Sadly, the water bowl and dog bed advertised on their leave let was not in our room and we didn't try the dogs menus as with £13.95 for a chicken dinner it was expensive to try if our dog would like it, she can be fuzzy sometimes. Nice Park and woodland to take her out in the morning and evening, plenty of poop-boxes but they could do with being emptied more often, specially in hot weather. For the dog owners - limited menus in bar and restaurant and if there is a travel group as individual guests you cannot booked in for dinner at 7 pm or have to wait even in the bar for 45-60 minutes fir your food, late dinner possible but you have to wait still. Set menu for restaurant, food tasted good but small portion and sides are to pay extra for. 3 course meal costs £29.95 and if you want the (tiny) cheese board you pay a supplement of £4.00 on top, 2 course is £25.95 plus £4.00 for cheese- mains portion left us still a bit hungry, bit more vegetables missing... 10 green beans and 3 small potatoes cut in half with the fish meal is not really filling. Bar meal much better value for money just the chairs in the bar lounge are uncomfortable for eating and the bar area is more like a corridor with a bar at one side and lounge across the floor... for me just not that cozy inviting space to sit, relax and eat and having a drink at sundown as people either walk pass to their rooms or towards the restaurant (no dog in restaurant)

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would visit again. The grounds are lovely and there are lots of great walks nearby.
Despite a few glitches with the booking, Pets Pyjamas sorted it out and we had a wonderful stay. the staff worked hard (even though it was clear they were stretched) to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Disappointing!!!
I purchased this mini break for my daughter who is pregnant and her partner as she had not been well. I chose pets in pyjamas as they go everywhere with their beautiful little dog. When they arrived there was a wedding on which took over the whole hotel so they could not book a table in the restaurant so had to find somewhere to eat elsewhere. There was nothing left for the dog and just got told that they were a dog friendly hotel & that was it! They were initially given a twin room in the basement but asked to change to a double that I had booked. However space was limited to the wedding. I was not informed of the wedding when I booked! Overall a very disappointing stay which I was upset about as I had booked it for them.

Upon arrival we were excited to see the grounds and let our dog explore. However we were surprised at how small the grounds were compared to what we expected from the photos. That being said it was big enough to let him do his business and run about. We were greeted by lovely staff and throughout our stay they were all very helpful and accommodating. The main reason for a 3/5 score is because the room we were staying in was extremely dated and really quite worn out (and it was a superior room) the little fixes that had been done here and there were quite shoddy, for example the toilet seat was repaired and the screw head was exposed where you sit! The package also included a buffet style breakfast and evening meals which were from a small set menu. The breakfast was pretty much as expected but the evening meal options were quite limited and not fantastic to be honest. Although we did have a lovely break away it was due to the convenient location of the hotel and accommodating staff, but not the hotel itself. I probably wouldn’t recommend this hotel in particular if there were available alternatives nearby.
