Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Location & hotel rooms were beautiful and worth the money, But the restaurant & food was disappointing.
We all had a lovely 3 night break at The Ship Inn, our room number 2 was beautiful and the views out to sea were breathtaking. The location really made the break as we could walk the boys on the beach before breakfast every morning, they could do with a dog shower outside to wash them down before entering the hotel. I was very surprised that the restaurant accepted dogs where people without dogs were eating, it made me feel uncomfortable as the tables were close to each other especially with 2 dogs. Would of prefered to have eaten outside but we were told that we could only have the Fish & Chips from the chip shop outside.

The good - lovely waiter and waitress who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The bad - awful noise that was coming from the fish and chips outbuilding (industrial size extractor fan) positioned just a few meters away from our room. Very stuffy room where only one window would open but due to the noise outside it could not be opened wide to get some air in. You choose whether you would like to be in a stuffy or noisy room. Terrible mattress that did not allow for ANY sleep. Water - again, you choose if you want to shower or flush the toilet as it is impossible for these two simple actions to be happening simultaneously. Broken glass in front of the hotel which was cleaned up after we made the staff aware of it. We suspect that our dog cut its pad on it. As a result we needed to take him to a nearby vet which was expensive. This also meant we had to check out after one sleepless night as our dog was unable to walk due to the injury. There was no point staying longer if you had to carry a 12kg dog everywhere. We requested a refund through Pets Pyjamas which was totally unhelpful and told us to speak to the hotel directly. The refund for the two nights that we did not stay, was refused. We felt that charging us for two nights was reasonable, however the third was simply greedy and unfair as we only stopped for ONE night. Overall, AVOID AVOID AVOID or go at your own risk.

Great location on the beach and easy to get to lots of other lovely towns on the Norfolk coast. The hotel room was good, but the bathroom was small. The main issue was the lack of water in the bathroom. It was almost impossible to shower in the evening as there was a complete lack of water pressure so you were lucky if there was more than a trickle. It was also very hit and miss in the mornings. We reported the problem but nobody got back to us. The management seemed completely disinterested in the problem or their guests in general. The other staff were much friendlier and helpful.

The best part of our trip was the location. This pub is next to all year dog friendly beach and cliff top walk. However we have been on many pets pyjamas holidays and unfortunately this one did not meet their usual high standards. The reception we received was none existent. We were told our room numbers and told keys were in the doors. There was nothing welcoming about it and no effort to make our dog feel at home. Rooms were comfortable and we had a lovely sea view, but only what we would expect from the price we paid!! Our room was not cleaned properly during the break and tea/coffee/water/biscuits not refreshed. You can’t blame everything on the Covid situation! Food at The Ship was adequate, nothing special, not even the fish and chips! Mundersley itself is very sleepy. The beaches are fantastic. But don’t expect anything exciting in the town itself. We left the Adventure Golf to our last day only to be told our well behaved dog was not welcome! Would we return.... no. High point of holiday.... Seeing seals at Horsey beach.

Firstly staying in a pub for the first time is definitely different to staying in a hotel. We didn't get the personal service that we have experienced from a hotel. That said, we had a super waitress called Trish when we dined with our two dogs in the evening. Our room was huge and sea facing, which was reflected in the price we paid for our 3 night stay. All meals taken at the pub were very good except our last, Sunday roast which was the first meal in my life (aged 57) which I had to send back. The waitress, Madeleine (I think that was her name) was very apologetic and didn't charge us. The hotel location on the beach was a definite highlight and the reason we may consider returning.
