“The hotel was perfectly located in the centre of Harrogate just across the road from the Conference Centre. Beautiful traditional building with original features. Comfortable room and lovely touch to have a complimentary bottle of fizz delivered to the room, although we did have to remind the staff that it was part of our package! Very dog friendly and we dined in the bar area rather than the restaurant. It was a lovely area to eat. Another slight problem was that the deserts had finished as the Kitchen Staff had left including the Chef, so we were unable to have the deserts we had ordered. However as way of compensation we were given a lovely bottle of rose wine and staff were very apologetic. Overall, a lovely experience and would recommend.”

“Lovely hotel, and friendly staff, room clean and big, lovely grounds to walk dog and great location to town and restaurants. I would have given 5 stars but there is just a few things they need to improve on, breakfast would be easier if they set a table up for you in bar area or outside so that you don't have to collect your own crockery after collecting you food. And a poo bin would be really useful.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Despite being portrayed as dog-friendly we felt they were simply paying lip-service to that provision which was a great shame as the staff were very friendly and the location was perfect.

“Good points - accommodation rooms, location and dog-friendly gardens. Bad points - could not have breakfast or evening meal in the restaurant. Had to eat our breakfasts in the Bar alone and without table service due to self-service provision. We each had to walk from the bar through reception, along a corridor and into the restaurant which was bad enough but the return walk was very embarrassing having to carry a plate of hot food past other visitors who were milling in reception and looked at us as if we were mad. We felt like second class citizens plus the quality of our one evening meal in the Bar was very poor as was the service which was a shame as we had invited our friend to have a meal with us not knowing the only area available was the bar.”

“We used a Classic Double room which was slightly small with a dog, the room was clean but very hot and the windows didn't open. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the gardens were superb however there were no dog litter bins anywhere around the hotel. The bar area was not really suitable for eating/ dining with a dog, there were many low casual tables not suitable for dining and the walk from the restaurant with the breakfast food through the reception area was long and embarrassing.”

“Did not agree with adding 10%to your bill everytime you went to the bar and also the fact they did not accept cash for god sake this should not be allowed also they added 10pound to the bill on departure as a gratuity payment definitely not on would not stop here again.”

“We had an excellent time, the room was really clean and airy. Our dogs were treated like guests, food was very good and great value for money thanks to Pets Pyjamas.”
