Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? One or more large dogs may find the chalets a little small
We found very friendly welcoming staff at Reception. The ground floor chalet style room was quite small, but clean, well equipped and adequate for us and our miniature Poodle. The grounds are well maintained and quite extensive with a lovely woodland walk around the perimeter of the estate. The house itself has an interesting history and a lovely old world atmosphere. We found our 3 course evening meals superb and breakfast variety excellent. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit and value for money

I can not remember the last time I stayed somewhere so faultless and stress free. The venue is a dog owners dream accommodation is perfect for you and your pooch. Many acres of beautiful woodland walks. The food is amazing and all of the staff are incredible nothing is too much trouble all very cheerful and always ready to help. We set up with our two huskey s next to cricket pitch staff we’re more than happy to bring food and drinks down to us throughout the evening. I would say without hesitation one of the best places I have stayed can’t wait to go back fantastic value for money

The main house contains the restaurant and bar and is a beautiful old building. The food was of a high standard and both rooms are very elegant, although the bar could do with some more subtle lighting. A lounge area would have been nice too, as there is nowhere to relax outside of the bar if you don't want to be in your room. Luckily the weather was good and we could sit on the lovely terrace overlooking the stunning grounds. The rooms are housed in separate blocks and although very clean were dark and a bit cave-like. We had our dog with us and although it gave straight onto grass, which was handy, the room had little space for her and she was restless throughout our stay when in the room. The grounds are lovely though and a wooded path runs around the perimeter of the property which was great for dog walking and very peaceful. The staff were generally kind and helpful although seemed pretty stressed. There were three weddings over the three days we stayed which must be pretty relentless for them. Although weddings are clearly the hotel's main focus, we weren't disturbed by them, however. The leisure facilities were good and the pool was clean and not crowded, despite the hotel being full. The area is okay. There is not a vast amount to do but the South Downs are close with nice walks and pubs. Overall a nice weekend but I wouldn't want to spend more than a night or two in these rooms.

Small room, wardrobe but no drawers, but clean and good bathroom. All staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds and great woodland path and field for dogs. Food was good but bit of a walk for anyone disabled from rooms to main house. Unfortunately we stayed at a weekend and kept awake by wedding guests until early hrs!

Just spent 3 days at New Place. Fantastic old main building with beautiful gardens and great woodland walks for the dogs. The separate accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. Dinner on our first night was wonderful, good service from lovely staff. However on subsequent nights the service fell apart with staff not seeming to know what was happening with food orders. However, the food was excellent, very well presented and a good choice on the menu. If the management get to grips with the waiting staff, we would be very happy to return.

This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings of gardens and woods. The main house is also beautiful and full of history. Rooms are in blocks with green space outdoors, so plenty of places to take your dog out. Our dog was allowed in all the grounds, specific bedrooms and in the reception and bar area. He wasn’t allowed in the restaurant and so we had our meals outside on the terrace and breakfast inside the bar area instead of the main dining room with everyone else. This was a bit of a hassle as we still had to get our food from the breakfast buffet area which wasn’t very close to our table in the bar. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Water was provided for our dog in the bar area. Rooms were quite dark with little natural light, and a bit dated but comfortable and clean enough.

The staff were lovely, grounds great, family room was small for 4 of us plus dog but it had everything we needed. Megsie (our furry family member) had a lovely time and had lots of cuddles from staff and other guests. We didn't get the dog welcome biscuits that other rooms seemed to have but reception and the bar made up for that. Special mention for Andy in the bar, great with the kids and dog and nothing was a bother, a great ambassador for the hotel.
