“All the staff were very welcoming, to me, my daughter and our puppy. Very friendly, attentive staff throughout the hotel. There is a lovely walk around the edge of the grounds, the rooms are comfortable and the food is great too!”

“As a party of four adults, one toddler, one baby and three dogs we’ve had the best time at New Place Hotel! The staff are wonderful - kind to humans and dogs alike and the grounds are wonderful for an early morning or pre-dinner walkies session. Our dog enjoyed a spot of squirrel chasing (there aren’t any where we live) although she was disappointed to discover that they can go up trees; spoilsports! Rooms were clean, warm and inviting and our meals were delicious. This was a least minute rearrangement by Pets Pyjamas as our original booking had ceased to trade - thank you Pets Pyjamas for outdoing yourselves!”

“Lovely location, staff were friendly and obliging. Room was satisfactory considering we had a dog with us. One criticism, the dining arrangement with our dog when sited in the bar was unsatisfactory. Perhaps a separate room could be made available.”

“The rooms are very small and dark, only a shower, no bath, our previous visit we had a bath. As the hotel is a popular wedding venue it can be a very busy and a bit noisy. Eating in the bar due to having the dog, is ok, however they can't seem to reserve and lay up a table even though ask you for a dining time! Housekeeping didn't even make the bed or wipe surface, just washed cups and folded towels. Breakfast was the best thing....in the bar... with laid up tables. If they can do it for breakfast why not dinner. Won't be returning!”

“Good food, good service and very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. The grounds offer a great wooded 20 - minute circular walk for the dog which was very useful. It is only a short drive to expansive forest walks and local towns....Highly recommended as a base to explore the New Forest area”

“The hotel was very busy as expected due to a couple of weddings and parties. The staff were very attentive towards me, my partner and our two dogs on our first night. They looked after us well. On our second day there seemed to be a slight lack if attention to detail, such as taking a long time to take food orders, we were told that we should have dog beds and we have them in our room, forgetting to bring things we had ordered at breakfast. All small things and I feel that it may be due to lack of management at the weekend compared to the Friday night. There was also no Air con in our room and on a hot 33c weekend, it was a little unbearable to sleep. We were provided with a desk fan which was an improvement but the windows barely opened. Overall, it was a nice experience. The hotel has substantial grounds to walk your dog, lots of trees and grassed areas and a half mile trail around the outside. There was also a swimming pool and tennis courts. The food was lovely in the evening at breakfast.”
