“The hotel was very welcoming and the gardens were great for the dog, especially so as we had a garden room. It is ideally located for Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere and provided an excellent base for further exploration of the Lake District.”

“From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and our dog was made so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel, the food, the Christmas package was perfect. Great location for walks. All hotel staff were professional and customer focused. Cannot wait to return and would recommend this hotel 100%.”

“All the staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming to us and our dogs, the room was nice; spotless and cosy with a good refreshment tray and comfortable beds, great dinner and breakfast plus nice gardens to walk the dogs. Our only disappointment was that had only booked for one night, we would definitely stay here again.”

“Perfect hotel to take your dog. Staff were very friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. If we stay again I would book a ground floor bedroom.”

“The staff were very friendly and the food delicious. My only comment is without losing its charm the hotel rooms need an update. We were put in a room with the dog with tiny windows so was a furnish on the hottest week of the year. The bathrooms however retro just need an update the water pressure is poor. Apart from that it was great !”

“This is a lovely hotel in a great setting between Windermere and Ambleside. Our room was perfect giving our dog Jess direct access into the garden which was a blessing given the current restrictions. All of the staff were excellent with the star of the show Sarah who looked after us very well. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay.”
