“We had an amazing stay at bagdon Hall Hotel, the staff Could not have been anymore helpful, The food an service in the doggy dining room was second to none, even our little cockerpoo was given sausage for breakfast and a bag of treats for dinner, Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing break with your pooch.”

“Bagden Hall was clean and comfortable. The grounds were great if you have a dog. However, the restaurant for people with dogs has no staff. you have to go and find a waiter to take your order. All the staff are in the restaurant for people without dogs, their needs are well catered for. Once you get your food in the dog freindly restaurant, you will not see a waiter again. Our dog was given a cut up sausage on both days, which she loved. It just needs to have some staff in the restaurant for people with dogs.”

“Our second visit, staying in one of the Lakeside rooms, which was amply big enough for our two large dogs and very clean and comfortable. We ate in the bistro room with our dogs and, although the menu was rather brief, the food was delicious. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the chef very kindly ordered in fillet steak specially for us! It was very much appreciated! All the staff were lovely and friendly and they obviously love dogs! Our only gripe is, that when there is a function on, every smoker/vaper uses the Bistro room as a corridor to the patio! Maybe the hotel could put a 'no entry' sign up!”

“This hotel is fabulous for a break with dogs. We stayed in one of the Lakeside lodges which are very clean, spacious and more than adequate. They are opposite the lake and lawn which is wonderful if your pooch needs to pop out in the night. Just to make you aware that the rank of 20 lodges are in a two story building and not seperate "lodges" . The designated parking for the lodges is right in front of them which is brilliant for transporting luggage from car to room. Food : very nice , cooked well and using fresh vegetables. A small selection of each course to choose from but all cooked and presented well. Could be an issue if you stayed for a week or more. You are able to mix and match between the restaurant and bistro menu for courses. If you are eating with your pooch you need to eat in the bistro or on the terrace if the weather is good. We were so lucky to have fine weather for our four night stay and ate breakfast and dinner on the terrace. The terrace views are of the lovely lawned area a short stroll from the lake with Folly and is blissful for dining and chatting to other dog owners. Location: excellent for city visiting, culture and countryside. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is only a few miles away and well worth a visit even if you aren't into art. The walk around the park is lovely. Several National Trust properties within easy driving distance. Nostell Priory has a great parkland walk for dogs. The hotel is set in 40 acres with lovely lawns and a small lake. Lots of the grounds are overgrown but with pathways through paddocks and woodlands. We understand from a groundskeeper that there are plans in place to restore the gardens to their former splendour. Atmosphere: truly relaxed and friendly. The staff really make this place something special! They all have a "can do" attitude which is something we find rare these days. They all genuinely appear to love dogs and their owners. We will be visiting Bagden Hall regularly from now on. And my husband who travels to Yorkshire often for business has said that he intends to make it a regular stopover. If you have any doubts about this place just cast them aside and book! It's our favourite with Pets Pyjamas so far !”

“A wonderful place with extensive grounds very well kept. A nice bar area where you can take your dog and very friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts. We would return again !”

“The staff were lovely, very kind & helpful. The room was a good size & clean. We have a very large dog & there was plenty of room for him. The dinner in the evening was good & tasty. The only issue we had was that there was a wedding held at the venue so a lot of noise incorporated with that through out the night. We then found out that it was a wedding venue & they have weddings there most weekends (which is fare enough), had we known about that we probably would not have stayed there.”
