“We had a fabulous 2 night stay with our 2 dogs. The hotel was extremely dog friendly with dog beds, towels and treats in the room and dog beds by our table in the conservatory. The dog agility course in the grounds was great fun! Top marks all round.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The only point we made on leaving was that the bath in our room no 29 was narrow and getting in and out for a shower was quite tricky and possibly. Dangerous so a grab bar on the wall would be advisable.

“This was our first stay with our dogs in an hotel for some time - usually opting for a dog friendly cottage, but there comes a time when a girl, and a chap just need some tlc as well and to feel cosseted and looked after. Of course, all the human cosseting in the work means nothing if one's four legged family are not catered for. Happily, we could not have chosen better than the Bishopstrow Hotel. The hotel and grounds have undergone refurbishment recently - all done beautifully with a mix of traditional and modern, the service is polite and professional but friendly - one feels relaxed straightaway, and the doggies are met with genuine enthusiasm and love, not merely tolerated. Our room was indeed pawfect with direct access onto a huge area of lawn and a doggy agility course + much enjoyed by our two and by Us! Our room itself was of a much higher standard doggy room than expected and with much more space - even a sofa and armchair. Very comfortable dog beds were provided for the dogs and lovely treats, balls and even some dog meat. The fridge was very useful for keeping their food in and also it was lovely to be provided with our own bottle of milk rather than a carton of UHT milk and bottled water. The food was excellent - of note was the sharing platter served at breakfast rather than a buffet - such a good idea - just right and then there was a good selection of menu to follow. The complimentary tea was well presented and delicate and we also found the evening meals excellent. The menu offered larger plates as well as small plates which could be taken with a number of side dishes. Much of the produce served is grown in their own no dig gardens which are lovely to walk round. I very much enjoyed the use of the spa which was very clean and well run. I did not use the outdoor pool but a number of guests were and said it was a good temperature. I did use the outside jacuzzi which was good too. Dogs can go anywhere in the hotel with the exception of the main Garden Grill room but the conservatory and lounge areas are both lovely and dog nests are provided too for the comfort of your pooch! There are dog treats a plenty by the bar very quickly spotted by our Romanian Rescue, Smidgie! All in all, this is a beautiful hotel, offering guests, both two and four legged, a restful retreat from a chaotic world, a mix of an elegance of a bygone age with a tweak of the modern. Happily, during our stay, there was a welcome absence of people talking loudly into their mobiles, - a quiet air of enjoyment reigned amongst the guests from a wide demographic in a non stuffy, friendly atmosphere. Well done to all and well done Pets Pyjamas for offering this hotel and a package that made it an affordable break. Thank you!”

“We had a wonderful short break at the Bishopstrow Hotel - with our doggo Freddy. Our suite was very comfortable and well appointed. We’ve been to dog friendly hotels before but this was by far the best. We loved all of the little details and finishing touches for the benefit of the humans and the pooches! For instance, we had tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but they also included fresh milk in the fridge and some yummy complimentary home made biscuits. Freddy had his own goody bag with toys, food and treats. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t very kind to us but the hotel provided wellies and brollies, plus there was a doggies washing station which had warm water and a huge supply of fresh towels to dry the doggo after his bath. We found plenty of dog walks in and around the estate and they even have a dog agility course which was great fun for Freddy. All of the staff were amazing - and it really felt like nothing was too much trouble! Freddy stayed with us at meal times and the staff provided him with a soft bed to chill in beside us. I wish I could remember all of the staff’s names - but one that really did stand out was Camilla. What a ray of sunshine! She was utterly charming, highly professional and super friendly (with a cheeky sense of humour!). The first lady we met in reception was also charmingly friendly and her manner really set the tone for nothing being too much trouble. We felt the staff were all genuinely dog friendly - evidenced by the amount of fuss Freddy received. Also, for the humans, a visit to the Spa is a must! The pools and facilities are excellent! We are looking forward to going back in the not too distant future!”

“We booked a 4 night stay for us and our dogs and can honestly say it's the best holiday we have ever had! The attention to detail for both human and canine comfort is the best we have experienced. All of the staff are so kind and helpful, the food is excellent, and the whole environment is just geared to total relaxation.”

“Everything was perfect, we didn’t want to leave and are looking forward to returning soon. The dogs had a great time, comfortable beds and tasty snacks were provided for them and they loved the dog agility course. The Human food was excellent too, all the staff were lovely specially Loren from the breakfast team.”

“Just returned from a one night stay (with our Greyhound) at Bishopstrow Hotel. The Hotel was superb. The owners must have invested a lot over the last year or so. We had a 'comfy' room in an annexe to the main hotel and the decor, furnishings and facilities were very good. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed dinner in the conservatory adjacent to the main restaurant. A good menu and well cooked. The hotel is very 'dog friendly' with treats in our room and they even provided a bed so that our dog could be with us next to the table when we had dinner.”
