“We’ve just come home after 3 night’s staying in the Birchin Edge room with our two Labradors and we’re already planning a return visit. Chris and Caroline couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. The room was beautiful and really well equipped with everything that we could have needed. We also had direct access into a small private garden from which you could head through the gate into the rest of the garden and up onto the moors, brilliant for those late night/early morning dog walks. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice and our spoiled pooches even had their own portions, which they absolutely loved! The location is great too with lots of good walks close by and a pub within a couple of minutes walk from the B&B. It’s also really easy to visit places like Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall and Bakewell without having to drive far. I’d go as far as to say that this trip was better than just dog friendly, it was pro-dog! Thank you for a lovely break and we’ll be seeing you again soon.”

“We stayed with our black lab Wilf & had a lovely overnight break. The small touches were fab, our room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfy & the breakfast was delicious!! Could not recommend highly enough”

“We stayed in the self catering holiday cottage next door to the B & B. Clean, comfortable and well stocked with cutlery, appliances and tableware with some nice touches eg wall mounted televisions in the bedrooms, towels and dressing gowns provided and hand-wash in the bathroom. Great for dogs as the rear garden is totally enclosed and there ate walks leading from the back garden but beware that some have steep sections. The hot tub in the back garden can be a very welcome relief after a strenuous day. Couple of niggles: one of the burners on the gas hob did not work and the toilet ran constantly. Also, some of the ceilings had small holes in them with paintwork not quite finished but these were mentioned to the owner so, hopefully, will be sorted. But for those niggles, would have given it 5 stars. Although the cottage is self catering, the owners will provide breakfast on request. At the time we stayed (31.8.22 to 3.9.22), the cost was £10.”

“Everything was absolutely brilliant. The location was lovely and the actual venue was superb. The owners were so friendly and attentive and everything was available to make our stay so enjoyable. Definitely go again .”

“We enjoyed our 3 night stay with our dog Lily. The breakfasts were delicious as were the free cakes. The room was very good and the private patio with easy access was very useful for walkies.”

“We had a short 2 night stay and loved every minute. The bed and pillows were the best i have slept in. The host were really friendly, we could not have asked for anything more. There was absolutely nothing more we could have wished for from our stay. Our dog was as welcome as we were ❤️”
