“Location, room, breakfast and welcome were exemplary. Gus, our Cavalier, was very happy too. He not only had a garden of his own but an excellent walk on his (and our) doorstep. Good country, good food at local pubs and a relaxed atmosphere. Could not recommend more highly.”

“A lovely home from home B&B. Beautiful room with small enclosed garden for our dog. Breakfast was amazing, (you must try the homemade yogurt)we were full all day and on return would find delicious homemade cakes waiting. Our room was checked and tea tray etc restocked daily plus a help yourself sideboard on the landing full of any tea/ coffee you could ask for plus beers and soft drinks to help yourself to downstairs. White towels, fluffy dressing gowns and luxury toiletries provided. The woodland at the back of the house was handy for a little stroll for Woodie before breakfast. The Robin Hood pub next door is very nice serving good food too for an evening out and with 10% off if you mention the B&B. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Chris, Caroline & their adorable pooches have the hospitality spot on and nothing is too much trouble. They even put a candle in my husbands Pain au chocolat on his birthday. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.”

“I don't think I have ever been to such a generous B&B! We arrived to a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The complimentary drinks and cakes were wonderful. We were lucky with the weather and able to sit outside in our little private garden to enjoy the sunshine with a tasty slice of cake and a cup of tea. Dog bowls and a blanket were provided so we didn't need to take these. The room was beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need on hand. The icing on the cake was the breakfast. The homemade yoghurt was to die for! All was very nicely cooked and plentiful. We wouldn't hesitate in returning. There is a lovely walk directly from the garden and there are so many places to visit which are easily accessible. Don't hestitate, book this place, you won't regret it!”

“Home-made cakes and drinks welcome you on arrival. The B & B has a mix of dog-friendly and non-dog-friendly rooms. Our room had everything we needed, a comfy bed, a great hot shower, a fridge and access to a private garden area for our dog. The hosts provide fabulous breakfasts, freshly prepared each morning. The cakes and drinks are available all day, every day, you simply help yourselves. The B & B is super dog friendly, our dog was welcome anywhere on the premises, both inside and outside. The hosts are happy to assist with any queries or requests, they will clean your room daily if required or just the elements you ask to be done. There is information provided on walks and the history of the area. The decking and steps area outside are a little slippy when wet so take care, there is also a drop by the side of the grassed area where caution is needed. There are also steps in the room and hallway to note. The location is great in terms of visiting Chatsworth House, you can walk there in around 30 minutes, and there is a hilly walk directly behind the B & B too. The pub next door is also dog friendly and serves great food, no driving is required. Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Sheffield and Chesterfield are all close by too. Overall we would highly recommend this accommodation.”

“We stayed overnight in a pet friendly room and our room opened straight onto the gardens. Delicious cakes awaited us and the host even made us a pot of tea. The place was spotless and extremely well-kept, with lots of little thoughtful extras. At the top of the large gardens there is a gate leading out to the moors.. with great dog walking. All in all an excellent B & B.”

“Very clean, lovely room very comfortable. Chris and Caroline made us very welcome. lovely cakes on arrival all home made. Breakfast superb everything freshly cooked. Highly recommend.”

“Room was exceptionel ,the breakfast fit for royalty and the cakes a delicious treet very dog friendly, all our needs were met and the location was terrific we felt very much at home comfortable and peaceful. perfect for a quiet break we definitley would like to return, i cant rate this place higher the hosts were very friendly and helpfuil”
