“Great stay at Embleton Spa Hotel . Our appartment was spacious, comfortable with amazing views and extremely dog friendly with outdoor space for her to potter around safely and for us to sit outdoor. A totally perfect place to relax . The staff were lovely and helpful, and it was a really nice thought to give give complementary pastries and coffee on arrival. There was a large choice for breakfast, and the food was great. We also had dinner in the restaurant, which also has amazing views and again the food was great. The whole hotel is super dog friendly. Would definitely like to stay again and explore the area more.”

“We really enjoyed our weekend at Embleton Spa Hotel, staying in the Ennerdale appartment with our toddler and golden retriever. The appartment was simple but clean and spacious with a nice view down the valley. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, the breakfast was delightful and the hotel is very well placed for local activities. Would recommend!”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Staff were friendly and if we requested anything they delivered.

“They oversell their product. The SPA is run independently from hotel. The use of spa facilities for hotel guests was fundamentally based on meal times in Hotel so had a choice of eating or swimming. The pool and jacuzzi were dirty, potentially a health hazard , lack of chemicals and floating debris. the sauna was out of use. The bar area was heated by a log burner which was not sufficient to heat the room The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the 2 treatments were excellent.”

“A very pleasant country hotel. The bar and dining room is very pleasant, with areas looking out to the fells or closer to the wood burner and bar. The bedroom was a good size, with modern furniture, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The swimming pool is a good size and the available times fitted in with what we wanted to do, we also used the steam room and there was a hot tub and a well-equipped gym. I thought the breakfast and evening meals were excellent, we were quite happy to eat there rather than venture further afield. We were given a warm welcome by the staff, all of whom were excellent, a credit to you.”

“I could not fault the staff or the facilities available at the Embleton Spa Hotel. Lulu, my precious pooch enjoyed being able to be with me in the bar / dining area so she was well catered for. Absolutely lovely break. I would recommend to anyone especially if they have a dog to accompany them.”

“The 3 stars are just for the staff. They were great. Friendly, helpful and made sure our dog got an extra sausage at breakfast. We had the Grasmere apartment, which didn't have any windows in the bedroom area and the tiny fan we had wasn't much good. The bed was awful, very wobbly is an understatement, and needed a new mattress. Didn't get much sleep at all. Although 'dog-friendly' this hotel isn't suitable for dogs. No enclosed space for a quick pee, no nearby safe walks ( right next to the A66 and little roads have no paths), and there are lots of steps around the place. The pool is used every day by the local schools so it is very busy so you'd think it would be well kept, but its absolutely filthy. The water was cloudy and the were dirty marks all around the edge. Very moldy and used plasters on the wall. The walls were covered in advertisements for local businesses and unkempt. Breakfast was lovely but not served until 8:30. We asked for it earlier but they could only manage 7:45 once, and nothing earlier. Not great when you're wanting to get out and explore the area and miss the heat ( it was very hot the 3 days we were there) Very limited food & drink choices in the bar”

“We booked to stay here for a relaxing getaway and that's exactly what we got! The hotel is set in a beautiful location within the mountains that is far enough from civilisation for you to relax and unwind but also close enough to beautiful walks and villages. The breakfast was lovely! The food and drinks are reasonable pricing and definitely worth the money! Would recommend to anyone looking for a short stay with their dog.”
