“The hotel is Ok but living off its former glories. It’s very tired in places and the dog friendly accommodation is very different to the pictures. The Spa is very poor and not worth the money. The tasting menu is superb however the drinks are very pricey. Sorry to say but there are better places to stay for the money.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The bar menu was quite limited, it would be nice to add a few more choices

“I would highly recommend Holbeck Ghyll, especially if staying with your dog! The setting is just perfect, with views over the lake and mountains. There is also a little trail through the woods which is perfect for the early morning dog walk! Our room in the lodge was spacious and comfortable with its own little outdoor seating area. We thoroughly enjoyed our late afternoon drinks watching the sunset and our lovely Barney was able to stay with us at mealtimes in the bar area. The staff were very attentive and welcoming and made a lovely fuss of Barney each time they saw him! We will definitely return again and would highly recommend!”

“Our room was in a separate building and was quite nice. Due to the hot sunshine and lack of fans or air con the room was on the warm side so we had to leave the windows open at all times. The bathroom was nice and large but the hot tap was intermittent and the sink cracked. Looks like a refurb is needed. Staff were attentive but thin on the ground so service was slow and you had to keep asking for things at breakfast. Whilst breakfast was quite nice we don’t consider the package was worth the money.”

“Rooms brilliant our two Labradors loved them. Food high quality but a bit expensive, staff fabulous nothing too much trouble. Would recommend to all As long as your budget can cope .”
