“Had a great two nights at Holbeck Ghyll in a dog friendly lake view lodge. This was separate to the main hotel so I didn’t have to worry about our dog suddenly barking, and we had a grassy area immediately outside the door. Dog bed, treats, bowl and small cover were waiting in the lodge - very welcome. We would have loved to have stayed longer!”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The radiator in our bathroom leaked. We told them but nothing was done about it. The location was really good.

“The room and breakfast were lovely but the restaurant menu in the evening was expensive so we ate out at night.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Whilst we understand about the separate dining with the dog it still felt very strange.

“We stayed in a lake view lodge, the lodge was nice and the view fantastic, we dined in the hotel the first evening where we were led into a seperate room on our own to dine. The food was ok but there was no atmosphere and it was very expensive, breakfast was in the same room each morning again on our own. The staff were all very nice to us and our dog.”

“The staff were amazing. Welcomed our dog like he was a long lost friend. He was spoilt rotten. Hotel comfort and food definitely a 4 star experience fabulous setting.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The only issue was that the hotel said it had not received payment from pets pyjamas and tried to charge us again so do beware of this!

“Arrived late afternoon to a great welcome from Rowan. She showed us around and made both us and our 2 dogs very welcome. A quiet , tranquil place to stay with fabulous views of Lake Windermere. Staff were all extremely helpful especially Rowan , Emma and Tom. Although the pets are not allowed in the dining room for breakfast it was no problem to eat in the bar area which was very relaxed. Food fabulous.”

“The hotel is lovely and welcoming. We brought our 2 children and 2 dogs and the staff were amazing with us all. The hotel is beautifully located as well - the view was unreal from our room”

“Hotel has an excellent setting and views of Windermere, our room was one of the lodges and was well appointed and warm with excellent views and dedicated close parking. The service in the bar and restaurants for breakfast and dinner was second to none and the food was excellent although a little expensive.”
