“The Jack Russell is the most dog-friendly place we have stayed in. Dogs are welcome everywhere so our 2 dogs were able to come to breakfast and dinner with us. There were several other dogs there and they were all well behaved. The inn and its rooms are beautiful, the food delicious and the staff extremely welcoming. It is situated in a pretty village with plenty of opportunity to go for dog walks in the open countryside. We can’t wait to return!”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The only other thing is that a sign needs to be put up that says “guests only” or something at the dog house as kids using the area immediately outside hotel rooms as a playground was super annoying.

“Great room with garden, quiet, no complaints about the food! Super helpful staff. Our drinks were forgotten most mornings at breakfast haha.”

“Great place for adults and dogs alike! The inn itself is very quaint, cosy and comfortable. We stayed in "The room with a view" which was fantastic, top end fixtures and fittings and great to have direct outside access via the French style doors to grass L shaped run for both our doodles! Staff very friendly but service is a bit slow in restaurant and let down we felt by fairly average food for the price point. Overall though really enjoyed our stay although it has to be said not that much to visit locally by way of excursions and would definitely suggest you give Andover a miss! Both Hungerford and Marlboro better places to visit but it's not the Cotswolds!”

“Lovely hotel, really nice lunch and dinner options. The breakfast was disappointing the eggs were undercooked and the bacon was. Rashers really fatty no meat at all. All in all good stay not much room in the pub when it gets busier and a lack of seating was. A real problem.”

“The hotel was really pet friendly and they could go anywhere. Hotel impeccably clean . Staff were very helpful and friendly but still very attentive. Food superb. Thoroughly recommend”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would recommend brining your own dog bed however as the one offered was not much more than a blanket.

“The plan was to enjoy long walks with our dog and then sit and enjoy a drink or 2 with the papers, followed by a lazy meal. The plan had to be adjusted due to an injured dog, so more time with the papers and a pint The Jack Russell seemed perfect for plan A, and it proved to be an equally good match for plan B. A lovely room (maybe a little too hot but that is what windows are for), a cosy corner in the bar and an excellent menu. We did manage a couple of short walks in the local area and found plenty to tempt us back when Pippa is fully recovered. The bar was welcoming and the food offered choice and quality. We have already decided that we will return”
