Very friendly staff and large king sized bed however that is where the good news stops. Very little atmosphere, the romm was in need of an overhaul with a chip in the bath and dripping taps + the curtains needed repair. The bar was poor with no active mixologist in this day of 'cocktail' resurgance. Most of the gins on their list were no longer available with an out dated menu. Food was very average. This is a shame because the location is good but money needs to be spent urgently.

Lovely lay over in Widbrook grange. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms and facilities are good and the doggy breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. Rooms are starting to show there age, but I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic rooms, delicious food and a very warm welcome. The staff clearly loved dogs. The grounds are beautiful and there are some lovely dog walks from the hotel. We stayed for 1 night and would highly recommend it for short stays.

My pup Mika and I had a wonderful stay at Widbrook Grange. We both felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. It is very dog friendly - treats upon arrival, a doggy shop, a bed and gift bag in the room, separate dog waste bins and rooms with direct access to outside space. Dogs can go everywhere except the main restaurant, however they had a separate conservatory for guests with dogs (which we preferred anyway!). A gorgeous hotel with beautiful grounds and fantastic local walks, we will be sure to be back!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Wonderful stay and worth every penny.
I booked Widbrook Grange as a birthday treat for my husband and dog that share the same birthday. As soon as we arrived we received a warm welcome and were shown around the place so we knew where all the key facilities and rooms were, which we thought was a lovely touch.Ā  I booked a classic double room and it was very big; plenty of room for our small dog to do a few laps if it was tipping down with rain! We were in the outhouse rooms and ours was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was massive and we had a bath and a powerful shower in there. The room came with a dog basket and a dog treat box which our fur baby was very happy about!Ā Ā  The garden area is beautiful and we can understand why Widbrook Grange is a popular choice for a wedding; there was a wedding going on when we were there. They have a small heated pool which my husband used. In fact he had the pool to himself.Ā  The house has lots of decorativeĀ sitting rooms which dogs are allowed in and with the great choice of gin - they like their gin here, the rooms are relaxing to enjoy your G&T, hot drink or whatever takes your fancy. Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant only the conservatory for meals but it was lovely in there as it was light and airy. I'm sure in the winter months it is warm in there. The food was very tasty with a good choice on the menu.Ā  The staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved how the barmen wore waistcoats and had the look of running a country manor. We highly recommend booking Widbrook Grange.

Myself and my husband went here with our Dog on the idea this would be a lovely dog friendly hotel. We didnā€™t feel it was. We could not go in the main dining room at all but like naughty children we we instead banished to the conservatory. We left after the first night as we just didnā€™t feel lovely and cosy in the apparent dog friendly hotel. We definitely would not go here again. I have to say the food was lovely but shame dogs had to stay on there leads in our banished conservatory room.

Hello, I'm so sorry you felt this was not dog-welcoming for you, we usually receive great reviews for this property and the way that they welcome our four-legged friends. If you would like to discuss further please email support@petspyjamas.com and we will be happy to help. Best wishes, Catherine

Such a lovely place to stay. Really attentive staff who go out of their way to serve you. They even put our dogā€™s food in their fridge for us and served it up to him as we got ours. We thought we would be eating alone in the conservatory as was quiet on arrival but there were quite a few people with dogs there and made some great friends. A lot of comments about this being the best hotel theyā€™ve stayed in for dogs... I agree. Our bulldog was excited as soon as he arrived. And was sad to leave. As we were as well. Great facilities as well with the swimming pool.
