“Great hotel in a lovely village. Nice big rooms and very good food. Good selection of real ales. Plenty of good walks down by the river.”

“The hotel was very welcoming to our dog but there are only a few downstairs bedrooms available for dog owners. We were given a comfortable room but with a disabled bathroom with chair and drop down hand rails and it was a wet room. I think two of the rooms were for disabled access so it made me sad that able bodied people with a dog were potentially blocking a disabled person from booking a room. They should allow dogs in other parts of the hotel. Food good. Staff a little disorganised at times and don’t ask for a soft boiled egg for breakfast as they can’t do them.”

“The hotel was excellent. The lodge was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent would definitely go back there.”

“Went away with our dog for the first time, we had a lodge, it was huge. Dog was well cared for as well with blanket towel and treats. Food at Battlesfields was lovely and lots of lovely walks close by. Would definitely recommend.”

“Once more we have had a great time at Battlesteads. In a lovely village near the Tyne river- where Heron, Oystercatchers,Kingfishers & many more birds can be spotted. Great walks from the village, & Hadrian's Wall closebye too. Battlesteads serves great food; including their 5 & 8 course taster menu. The local Magus pale ale is great, & the drinks menu is extensive. The pearl in the crown is the great staff team. Brilliant!”

“we stayed there 4 nights it was very very good the staff were all smiles and very helpful food good but not a lot of food i liked for dinner but the morning was spot on room spot on.”
