Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The package deals from Pets Pyjamas are extremely good and save you a lot of money. Plus there always some treats and toys for my dog in the room on arrival .
I've stayed here many times and we love the place. One of the main reasons is that you can access the grounds for walking your dog directly from your room - without having to keep walking through the hotel. The grounds and hotel are kept very nice. The hotel rooms for those of use with dogs are nice and big. On this occasion, I only stayed 2 nights. I noticed that there was not the usual room cleaning or turn-down service. Also, because I travel by myself with my dog - I'm reliant on the room service for my evening meal. There was no answer on the first night and I had to order via reception. Not enough for me to complain about, but thought it best to mention - as we pay a lot of money to stay there.

This hotel was the perfect stay for us and our dog, our dog was allowed everywhere apart from 1 restaurant, we were given a dog pillow and a bowl and a room that was big enough for us and the dog and the back doors opened up onto the grounds which made it easy to let the dog out for the toilet. We were given walking maps which helped with the daily dog walks. Food was lovely, hotel and rooms were very clean and tidy. The only couple of things I would say that could have made it better is that they were very under staffed so you waited a long while for food or drinks. We also wanted to visit the pool/wet spa but when we arrived we were told it was fully booked for 3 days so that was a shame and we wasn’t told to book in advance either. In the detail it says you have breakfast with your dog and you get a dog sausage etc. which isn’t the case you have to eat outside with your dog for breakfast or they aren’t allowed, so if the weather isn’t great then it’s not ideal, dog didn’t get his sausage either on any mornings.

The French door which open out onto the grass areas made life much easier with the dogs . There were lots of very clearly signposted walks around the beautiful grounds .With a large wooden play area for children . There is a great terrace area which we were able to sit and eat breakfast/ evening meals . This sadly has a very limited menu for dinner , the food was nicely presented and very tasty though .

We had a warm welcome, Julie one of the three Julies in reception who helpfully sorted out answers to questions we had. As we have a dog our meals were taken in the bar, the menu was different to the dining room choice which was a shame but we did manage to eat in there on the last night and it was excellent. The room was comfortable, the shower facility was easy to use and was good, the only problem was the rubber shower mat when you tread on it to get to the shower it slipped, I now have a bruise to prove it. so be careful when getting in the bath. Spa facility 5 stars, treatments were lovely and all the staff were really friendly, I had a pedicure, given by Charlie the beautician, it was brilliant. Lottie our dog cannot say much but I could tell she had so much fun running around the grounds and saw her first deer, and rabbit, she also took part in a 1.8 Kilometer walk. Great to have no restrictions on dogs using the grounds. I would highly recommend Down Hall Hotel and Spa, we three had a really relaxing break. Thank You.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Was quite expensive when we had food aswell for 1 night stay.
Beautiful hotel, there was some refurbishment going on which limited some areas. Food was lovely and catered for gluten free diet. We brought our dog which the grounds are lovely to explore.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The bed was not made, purely the top cover pulled up over the sheet which was obviously ruffled up from sleeping in it.Atraining issue I think as so many of the staff were new and young. A male Manager ? at reception was curt and not great at interpersona
Down Hall is stunning, food was amazing, staff; Charlie(bar)Lilly (Spa) Marnie (restaurant) Amy( housekeeping) were lovely. Gym poor, had to ask for water twice, strange set up away from the Spa. Spa too expensive and should be part of the deal. Missed a pool .
