Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We booked via ‘pets pyjamas’ Darwin didn’t get the warm welcome that Kev & I received, which surprised us .
First impressions really do count. The crumbling/broken wooden planter as you pull up , needs removing, along with the v shoddy fence covering & the v tired garden furniture either needs refurbished or removing. Tomas & Ali are such a lovely young couple . Who have had to pick up the pieces from a prev owner who has not maintained this lovely Chateau. They have only had it since June last year & have been working so hard, you can see how much it means to them, with many small’ maintenance jobs turning into unexpectedly larger ones, due to previous owners lack of maintenance. They have definitely made inroads. We do wish them all the good fortune, luck, love & happiness in their future lives there. Tomas is such a hard working young man, Ali is very welcoming , nothing is too much trouble, v approachable, easy to speak with, my husband loved her food , they make a great team. It’s a real family venture, it was wonderful to also meet Tomas father. We’re sure that they will make this the success they deserve it to be. We asked to move to a quieter room /garden view room, if possible, they sorted straight away. There was a number of ‘small issues ‘ that needed rectifying ie v wobbly bedside tables, tv not working, covering for door handle loose span round, we couldn’t work safe (prev owner lost all keys) Tomas got straight onto them, he also fed back to us - that was absolutely fantastic. . That being said there is room for improvement, It definitely needs communicating (PRIOR to booking that is ….. this is out of Tomas & Ali control …… that you cannot stay in the Chateau between 11-4pm - this was most disappointing, for us, I’m disabled (I have a UK blue badge ) we’d had such a long journey to them. Had we been aware of this fact, we’d have booked elsewhere- it’s a major factor when you’re disabled. We just wanted to relax at the Chateau, in the beautiful room & garden, not to be told, that we have to go out , between these hours. We made the decision , not to let it ruin the last part of our 1st holiday in 10yrs , with it also being our darling 11yr old choc lab, 1st European holiday. Having worked for a major travel operator for over 7 years , all over Europe. There is definite room for improvement with basic standards, ie front of house makes your heart sink, don’t let it, the back is wonderful. Again , except for the fact the garden chairs & loungers were covered in bird poo , that my husband had to clean off , with anti-bacterial wipes, he then had to go & fish out a table to sit our drinks on, as the lovely Dutch ladies had the only table ,this attention to details, is the difference between an ok experience to a really, great one. After being out all day ….. to come back and then the beds not made……., that’s a definite no, no. Breakfast- fresh bread/crossiants , continental style , juice & coffee selection , was lovely. However , again , we had to give a time for breakfast (it should be more flexible we’re on holiday) & having done that …. still the cereals , cheese , hams were not topped up from the previous day. They should all be topped up prior to guests coming down to breakfast. Dinner - we are in 2024 there should be def more flexibility with timing a stringent 7.30pm is not creating a relaxing ,tranquil, holiday vibe, it’s dictating & a very, very old fashioned way of conducting a business , in a now v competitive market. To also not have any choice of menu , would have been a deciding factor. My husband enjoyed the food, however we have different tastes food wise. We’d have preferred to eat elsewhere, if we’d have known the above. These are all basic, attention to details, this really makes the difference between an ok experience , in such beautiful surroundings, and what will be, a stunning property , with lovely hosts, to a truly fantastic experience. Which they deserve it to be and we’re sure that they’ll get there.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Basics are all in place, just need to deal with the details to make this a really option for those looking for a base or stopover close to Calais.
We stayed for one night on route to our ski trip in Morzine. The accommodation and secure garden for Percy to run about with another dog, Monty, also holidaying at the Chateau, was superb. Being able to have Percy join us at dinner and breakfast was much appreciated. Unfortunately the Chateau was having heating and hot water issues during our stay, so showers were problematic, but room heaters were in place. An area for review would be more options for dinner and breakfast. The pre dinner drinks and opportunity to join up and dine with other guests was a nice touch.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? No extras for dog as described on your website. Big room but no heating on when we arrived in temperature of minus 6!!
Convenient for overnight stay from Calais tunnel. Big room with some lovely features and clean but just all a bit disappointing.

We had a lovely stay at the Château de Moulin where our host Cedric was very welcoming and accommodating. The two bedroom family room was very large with big comfortable beds which were very welcome after a long drive. The local town has nice restaurants which Cedric booked for us. Our dog Buddy was made very welcome and fussed over, there was a large enclosed secure grassed garden for him to play in and meet other dogs Breakfast was fantastic with a large continental range and the best croissants I have tasted for a long time with home made jams Very recommended

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? I would book directly in future. It was substantially more expensive to book via Pets Pyjamas and We did not receive any special treats or toys for the dogs
A well restored chateau and family home . The food was of a good standard and the room very spacious

Our return to Scotland after a year in Italy during the pandemic had us driving across France with our elderly dog. We'd heard the Chateau de Moulin le Comte was dog-friendly, and it looked lovely from the photos. Before we arrived, I got in touch to let them know that we'd be bringing the dog, who would need various tests before we could bring her into England via the Eurostar car train, plus we would also need to get Covid tests ourselves. Francis and Cedric, our hosts, did the enquiries and made both appointments for us. When our elderly dog found the circular stairway challenging, Cedric even carried her for us! There are a lot of beautiful places to stay in France, of course. But I'm not sure there are any where the hosts are so willing to go out of their way to help guests with scheduling and personal issues. We stayed for two wonderful nights, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Between our various covid-appointments, we spent a day in Saint-Omer as well, and particularly enjoyed our picnic in their lovely Jardin Public.
