Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Poppy and Annie enjoyed the Hotel special biscuits.
From arriving and being greeted by owner, this was a totally relaxing stay in a hotel where dogs are equal to humans in their treatment. Allowed everywhere ( except kitchen!). Large grounds down to river to explore. Food excellent - all staff friendly and take time out to chat and greet your pet. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Would highly recommend.

Had a great time from the moment we arrived. Staff and owner were super friendly, food was great and the fact our dog was allowed in the dining area certainly made all the difference. We were lucky enough to have good weather as well and look forward to returning.

Had a really good stay at the Fox & Hounds Country Hotel. Nothing was too much for the team there (from last minute dinner reservation timings, to the arrival of 3 rather enthusiastic and happy dogs!! The room was comfortable, well appointed and the ability to both have and leave dogs in the room was amazing. Being able to leave the dogs in the room whilst we ate was a godsend as it would have been chaos in the restaurant with the dogs (especially with other guests having theirs in there as well). The grounds are brilliant for dogs with large exercise areas for an off-lead runaround and access to the river for a dip. Breakfast was good, a decent selection of cereals, pastries and yoghurts with a well appointed breakfast buffet, but the highlight of the food was the dinner. The chef was excellent and the fish & chips and Pork Tenderloin on night one was excellent and the Fillet Steak special we had on the 2nd night was outstanding. Access to the local area was easy, only an hour from a very dog friendly beach (Woolacombe) for day 1 and a lovely walk around Tarr Steps on Exmoor on Day 2. All in all, a really easy, comfortable stay and would look to book again in the future when back in the area!!

Staff really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us or our doggy. Good and service good - treats, ice cream toys and blanket for dogs and an outside tap for washing off mud. Our room was a cosy one and quite small especially with a large ish Viszla. Last time we stayed had a lovely sized room with a four poster bed. We would definitely return

The hotel staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. Whilst the hotel building is old the rooms were of a high standard with everything provided of good quality. Would definitely stay again. The food in the restaurant was top notch although a limited menu (which didn't bother us as only stayed for 3 nights). Although not advertised as a family hotel our 1 year old grandson was well received and well catered for, but there wouldn't be much (other than extensive grounds) to occupy an older toddler or young child.

Our stay at the Fox and Hounds was as a result of an internet trawl seeking a pet friendly Christmas break, this led to "Pets Pyjamas" and thence the Hotel. There was some initial contact to establish menu preferences for Christmas day and I had some questions about parking and availability of car charging facility. All professionally handled. On arrival Tom and his management were excellent and went out of their way to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Advice on things to do locally was freely available. Setting of the hotel is good and the grounds and local areas available for dog walking were excellent, petty it was so wet. Considering there was something in the order of 26 dogs staying at the venue all went very smoothly, they pride themselves on being dog friendly and they are. My only negative comment is that the building is a little tired internally and an update is perhaps due. That said, if this was done they probably would not want dogs all over the place, then where would we go for a break.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Thank you to all at the hotel.
We had a great time for the 3 nights we stayed, we were made very welcome and well looked after. Plenty of walks local and further afield with some being recommended to us. We had a lovely room and space for us and our dog.
