“I was really excited about this stay and from the reviews noted the comment about spacious rooms. I paid a lot more to have a 3rd bed; it was a camp bed squeezed into a small room (which looked a bit tored)- poor quality sleep from the camp bed that my son left after the first night. We were well looked after in the restaurant for evening meals but our second morning they forgot about the do friendly room to eat in and weren't offered the amin part of the breakfast. o be honest, feel a bit cheated, especially when I compared the price of a night in the hotel to what I had paid for through pets pyjamas. Would like a conversation if possible.”

“Excellent package for New Year. Expertly organised. Exceptional food. Top class service from very attentive staff. Lovely accommodation. Truly dog friendly not dog tolerant. Lovely local walks. Excellent amenities- great shower, comfortable bed, good Wi-Fi We will definitely use this hotel again.”

“Had a fantastic 2 night stay here with our pooch. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were really friendly and welcoming. The hotel was immaculate and the food was devine! Very happy”

“What a wonderful time we spent at the Bear, discovering an area we didn’t know existed! The national trust common is absolute dog heaven! Merlin met so many friends on his walks. We were slightly disappointed that the bar and restaurant have the same menu, and that Merlin didn’t get his welcome pack? Can absolutely recommend the old fleece at woodchester, if you fancy a change of menu, the food was superb!!!! But the afternoon tea in the Bears Garden in to die for, yum”

“We and the 3 dogs and were flooded out. The professionalsm, care, thought and stragey behind catering for for a real 4-5 star experience is here. From the perfect wedding (we attended our friends here last year) to the ideal dog walking lunch afer a stroll on Rodborough common, to catinging for dog lovers or owners in nead of a well deserved break but wanting to ensure their best friends are happy... This place is perfect. The food is incredible and the whole experience very tranquille and relaxed. Expect to be welcomed, treated and enjoy as you would .from a 4* traditional rural hotel.”

“Such a chilled out place for dogs! My two dachshunds enjoyed loads of attention and were welcome nearly everywhere. For humans the food was excellent and huge comfy room. We will be back :)”
