“We took our two dogs for a one night stay and it was fabulous. Our dogs were welcomed so well and we must mention the restaurant manager who was very kind; she gave us a blanket for our puppy and was also very nice when our other dog was nervous of another dog: she told us they have to practice and really put us at ease as we didn’t want to upset anyone else. Lovely room we really hope to stay again! Also amazing food :-) make sure you go here!”

“We spent Christmas at The Bear last year and had such a good time we went back this year and it was even better. Our greyhound had presents of a lovely blanket, a cuddly toy and a box of goodies to eat.He was thoroughly spoilt. We were well looked after and all the staff were so helpful and friendly. All the meals were good and our room was clean and comfortable.”

“We were welcomed at reception and given all the information we needed. The room was spacious and well equipped with some lovely added extras such as coffee bags and artisan chocolates. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with links to towns such as Stroud. The Saturday farmers market is well worth a visit and it is a dog friendly town. Our dog was treated very well and enjoyed his sausage for breakfast. Overall a good break in a very nice hotel.”

“We had an excellent stay at The Bear of Roborough. Very nice bedroom in the Country House. It was the first time we have gone away for Christmas with our 2 dogs. The hotel was very dog friendly and the dogs received alot of attention from the wonderful staff. The food was amazing, everywhere was clean and fresh, could not find anything to complain about, although one small niggle would be the size of their residents lounge. There did not seem to be enough seating for the amount of guests staying. We tried several times to sit in there and it was full. But we still had an excellent stay, many thanks to all the staff, we had an excellent Christmas break.”

“We had a 3 night stay over Christmas and we can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. The accommodation was excellent, the food outstanding and the staff were amazing. On top of that, it was the most pet friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable.”

“We have just returned from our Christmas stay at the Bear of Rodborough and are contemplating booking for next year. From the moment we arrived until our departure the staff could not have been any more friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room and bed were extremely comfortable and warm, which was very good as it was so cold outside. Food and choices were amazing. all you could ever want so all in all highly recommended.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If staying ask for the Country House rooms as the view is fantastic

“We arrived a little late, but both our rooms were ready for us - ticked every box - but especially thge wonderful view of the valley - dog treats and bedding all in place - Hugo was very well looked after with extra sausages at breakfast time - the reception team especially helpful with organising more tea bags and sugar for my Mum's room - she loves a cup of tea with lots of sugar!!! Would definitely visit again.”
