I visited here with my family of 12 adults and six dogs for my dads 80th birthday. If your staying with pets there are ten pet friendly rooms, but I would recommend the two downstairs garden rooms which are larger and have immediate access to the garden and at the bottom of the garden a gate directly into the forest. I stayed in one of these with my two GSD, one of them a excitable 11month old rescue. Both the dogs and ourselves had a wonderful time, and the figs had there own blanket and towel each. We also had a small garden we could let the dogs lie in and a tiled conservatory the dogs could stay in securely and dry off and chill. But you would need to request that room! The other garden room had immediate access to the garden so was also very good. The restaurant food was really very tasty both the breakfast and the dinner, and was not to far from our room. The dogs could stay in the rooms whilst we all ate which was nice and relaxing, although we did have a couple of noisier ones who did not want to be left alone in their rooms and they were able to join us at the table. We was very fortunate with the weather and was able to sit outside in the garden with the dogs and have drinks when we returned from our walks. The hotel staff we’re really great, nothing was to much trouble and the location was great. I definitely hope to return and can’t recommend highly enough for pet owners.

This Hotel and the surroundings are perfect for Dogs. Hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. But the real plus point in the grounds and surrounding fields and woodlands You can walk for hours in various directions. Our 1 Year old Cocker Spaniel loved every second she was there

We really enjoyed our stay and so did my miniature Dachshund, Storm. We had the Junior Suite which had a separate conservatory which lead directly into the garden. You could access the Forest through a gate at the back of the garden. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially when travelling with your furry family members.

An initial issue with the room was sorted quickly. Housekeeping has to be requested at the moment which we didn’t register till halfway through our stay... the info was a bit buried! Food was very good and we happily ate in every night. Location was ideal for walking and we spied deer more than once, which was thrilling! Staff were attentive and helpful. Thank you for helping us to escape from the city.

This is a small hotel in the New Forest with access to the forest from the large garden. We stayed for 4 nights with our small dog although we had originally booked to take a large dog as well. As we asked for a twin bedded room we were in a standard room on the ground floor. On booking I checked with the hotel that there would be room for a large dog bed in the room and was assured that there would be. However in fact there wouldn't have been room for both dog beds in the room. We had very hot weather and were able to eat outside. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and tables in the bar are low and not convenient for eating a meal. There was a mix up over table bookings on one evening and two tables were double booked. This did not affect us as we sat down early. Our room had a miss matched ill fitting toilet seat and the hot tap was loose and moved from side to side. The extractor fan was very dirty. The room wasn't serviced during our stay due to Covid. This was ok but there were no spare rubbish bags and only 2 toilet rolls for a 4 night stay and no tissues. Plumbing was very noisy and water pressure was intermittent in the shower. There was a funeral at the hotel on one day and a buffet tea was served. None of the guests wore masks in he hotel although we were required to do so. The guests didn't leave until after the time when dinner service started and we were not informed about the funeral in advance. We loved the location of the hotel but felt that service could have been improved upon at times. Our bill had a charge for the dog of £40 and a charge of £135 per night for the room and breakfast. As we were undercharged for some food and drink we paid the requested amount but didn't leave a tip.

My husband and I along with our sausage dog Dolly spent the weekend in the deluxe suite which had its own conservatory and enclosed courtyard. From arrival to departure, we loved every minute of it. The hotel is beautiful, also the garden and grounds. Gina on reception/bar/restaurant was just the best!! We will definitely be booking to come here again. Many thanks to Jodie Smith from PetsPyjamas for finding this place for us - much appreciated.

Although our stay was cut short due to our dog becoming poorly we were very impressed with the hotel and staff. The hotel is situated in its own beautiful grounds but also really does back on to the Forest. Within 5 minutes of walking through the gate we saw ponies and deer. It was idyllic and very easy to find. We will definitely be returning to resume where we left off!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodlands. Being able to walk straight out into the forest was wonderful. Our young enthusiastic Labrador thought she had found heaven !
