Did you and your dog receive a warm welcome? No
Did you feel your stay was good value for money? No
Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? It struggles to make its 3 star rating and is very over priced. Residents were exempt from the ‘specials’ menu's so had to pay full price.
Very misleading property. Small old 18th century inn at the front, with disjointed layout and dated 80/90s accommodation blocks at the back. Rooms are some distance from the main Inn itself down many steps and are majority are breeze block chalets with fake wood panelling on the outside. Curtains didn’t close and no fridge in room despite having the feel of a motel. Rooms were cold and the carpet was filthy and stained. Some staff were friendly to us and our dog, but not all. Our dog felt like an in convenience. Could leave him in the room if we went to the main building, as the only benefit to the stay. Only able to eat in a very small area of the inn. No lawned gardens or walks on property as advertised on their literature. They accommodate dogs but are not dog friendly. So poor we cut our visit short. Luckily we had sunshine which made it look much better than it was.

The owners were nice but we were not told the room was not at the inn and in like a out building in the grounds the food was very expensive and we had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? My only tiny issue was the wifi signal is weak in the rooms - if they were able to improve that, it would be perfect. If I knew they improved the wifi, I would make more use of this hotel for business trips to the midlands. But won't be able to do that unless the wifi is improved as you can't work from your hotel room. But for going to a dog show, where the wifi signal was less critical, it's great.
Comfortable, warm, clean rooms, with easy access to one's car, which is handy with a dog. Nice cosy pub with a roaring fire. Good food and friendly service. Very enjoyable stay.

Lovely overnight stay! Room was nice and clean with comfortable bed and everything you need. We had a beautiful hot meal in the evening and an excellent English breakfast in the morning. Hosts and staff were very kind and welcoming. Great family run business would definitely recommend.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Needs attention, no slip mat in shower challenge twice as to payment for bar food had to show credit card app to prove payment
Found the stay extremely disappointing !!! The only thing welcoming for the dog was a dog water bowl in the bar !!! Very poor accommodation with a musty smell !!! Probably only used for dog stays and is in need of TLC !!! So many things disappointed with would need a separate review !!! Overpriced !!! Food poor !!! And to have a cooked breakfast pay extra what an insult !!! When did your company last check this property ? Just looked online and if I went direct now i could book a room for £99 I paid £160 please justify !!!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Terrible photos on my wifes phone. Currentlyat work. Complaintcsent and pets were contacted on the day.
Very poor budget pre-fab Pontins style accommodation at 3/4 star prices. Booked through pets site. This was supposed to be an anniversary 2 night stay fir my wife and I at £145 per night. Arrived on a windy, cold Fri afternoon 20 mins early at 14:40hrs to which was given a matter of fact statement by the not care a jot staff "oh youll need wait till 3pm on the dot". Sat in grubby bar and ordered some food and a drink. Only then realised how grubby it was. Shredded seats, snail trail under the 2 seat table and food that was clearly not fresh. Soup id say was a few days old and been added to. (Ex Chef). Coleslaw on the turn and just alltogether sub standard. Got key for room around 15:30 and shocked to find was in a cramped prefabricated pontins style Shallet with a double bed and a crammed in bunk bed. Everythinglooked old, shabby inc bedding, decor, curtains hanging like limp fish. Everything was worn, damaged or/and ill fitting. So much for a romantic weekend in a country pub/hotel. Went straight back to reception to say we would not be staying. Was offered another room in a solid building which was 'just' acceptable as it was now getting late. We were tired and cold so stayed the two nights without going to breakfast which we just didnt trust after seeing the general running of the place and casual unprofessional, casual, laise fair attitude of the staff. The shine was taken off our 'break' from word go and the break was endured rather than enjoyed. Grubby child cots in the corridor, large open skip and rubbish outside accommodation inc old TVs and Fridge etc.. lovely view i think not. Cud ho on and on.. Plus side. Good Hot showers and decent views to the rear.
