Very well looked after by the staff. Nadia (manager) has only been there for a few weeks and is working to ensure all guests are well looked after. A couple of kitchen hiccups but early days for new management. Everyone made a fuss about our dog and ensured she was well looked after too. Lovely huge room and a super huge bathroom - we will be sure to stay again!

Our 3 for 2 stay was wonderful, we were given a lovely room with a great bathroom and power shower. Fabulous beer garden with stunning views and a public footpath right next to the pub which was handy for those early morning and before bed dog walks. The breakfasts were amazing, and we ate in the cosy bar twice. You will never find a more friendly and accommodating landlord than Alan and his hardworking team were superb too.

A lovely welcome was received from the new landlord Alan and his staff at The Anchor. The pub was all decked out for Christmas and had a festive ambience, we enjoyed drinks in the snug bar with the lovely open fire going. Our room was great very comfy with all amenities we could want, the lovely beamed decor and so many varying pictures/paintings and knick knacks to catch your imagination along with plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs Ellie and Winnie. We used the pub restaurant to host a party of 10 ex-colleagues and also for other friends to visit us, the food and service was very good and Alan was on hand to make our party most welcome. We had a hectic few days visiting friends we hadn’t seen since moving away from Hampshire but thoroughly enjoyed the break away and The Anchor was a great base for our brief visit. Thank you.

The hotel and pub are lovely and homely and very welcoming. The only issue for people with dogs is the stairs leading to and from the rooms. At the point of entry to the stairwell is a blind corner and could result in problems if another dog is in the bar at the bottom of the stairs. Food beautiful and whole experience was excellent
