“Very nice venue and a very nice town. Room was excellent and clean. Ruby (our dog) got her own bed and also a watering bowl. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was very good, but the menu choices were a bit limited. Overall a very pleasant experience.”

“Really beautiful and friendly hotel to stay at. Food was fantastic and our dog especially enjoyed the sausage brought for him at breakfast The restaurant staff were very accomodating and one lovely gentleman even helped our daughter out with a bit of Spanish ready for her school exam, whilst waiting on our table. On arrival we found that the room was only set up for the 2 of us so we had to ask for an extra bed - this was soon sorted out. Apart from that it was a very smooth relaxing stay.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Although facilities for dogs was provided but a friendly dog welcome. Building work was going on which we were not informed of. Having said that the builders were very polite and friendly to the dog.

“Location and property are great. Room we had was also nice. However let down by the lack of attentiveness of staff especially in the bar where we had our evening meal which at best was ok. Breakfast was better and the member of staff was much friendlier to us and our dog.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Our stay was a Christmas package and as so we expected our meals not to come from the usual menu would have liked more guidance. Boxing Day evening buffet was a little lacking would have liked choice of Christmas cake mince pies and trifle disappointed wi

“Not having stayed at The Close Hotel before it had to live up to my expectation and it did so quite well. The check in was easy and welcoming, our room was comfortable and had all we needed, our dog was catered for with dog bed blanket water and food bowl. As pescatarians we often find the menu lacking especially when it comes to an alternative to turkey and all the trimmings but we were pleasantly surprised with the food on offer and both enjoyed our Christmas lunch. All of the staff were courteous and helpful.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas stay at The Close. The staff were friendly, professional and super helpful: borrowing a dog lead when we lost ours!! Our bedroom was lovely and large enough to comfortably accommodate the dog crate. The food was delicious.....so much! And eating in the bar or library with our pet was very comfortable and made for chatting with other diners who also had their pets with them. Hoping for a return visit in the summer to further explore the area.”

“We had such a lovely time at The Close Hotel! Gorgeous comfy bed, delicious food, friendly staff. Nice muddy walks nearby for our dog Bert, some sweet pubs, and general cuteness. Would go back. So nice.”

“The Hotel was extremely welcoming and comfortable! Our Dog was very happy there - and enjoyed a lot of fuss! He especially enjoyed his breakfast sausage. We will definitely go back”
