Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Facility is tired and too expensive.
Location perfect, staff perfect but a shame the food (and price of said food) did not live up to expectations

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Staff are particularly good. Friendly, helpful and always helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
Very welcoming, friendly and professional staff, such a relaxing, warm and comfortable atmosphere. Very comfortable room, enjoyed by us and our 2 Spaniels. Opened directly into grounds making walks easy. Lovely lake and gardens, woods and countryside to explore. Food and drinks delicious, Spa very relaxing and pleasant.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? We wouldn't describe this hotel as dog friendly, more dog tolerant. A very limited area for dogs in the main house, unlike Moonfleet Manor or Bovey Castle, which meant that if residents without dogs chose to sit in the area you could take dogs there was n
There is no doubt the setting of this hotel is beautiful. However, we were disappointed by some aspects of our stay. It did seem that the answer was no, what's the question?, a shame because a minority of the staff were helpful but let down, overall, by their colleagues. The menu was restrictive, so for a four night stay repetitive. At one stage we requested wine and were told that no one was available to take a cork out of a bottle, we asked for coffee but the cappuccino machine had broken, the temperature control on the shower never worked et al.

The lodges are spacious, beautifully decorated but if you take your dog(s) you need to bear in mind you cannot leave them at the hotel alone. If the dogs bark you are asked to place them in the car. The lodge is disability accessible but there are no grab rails near the bed. The spa is wonderful but again disability access is an issue. The menu in the restaurant is the same for the week that you stay, which has limited vegetarian options.

Great hotel in the countryside. Staff were lovely - service was great during dinner and breakfast. Dogs are allowed in the bar area and you can have your meals with the dog in The Oak Room. Spa was an extra bonus with an outdoor hot tub.
