“We had a lovely visit to the Talbot. Teddy was treated like a king with everyone fussing over him. Teddy really enjoyed the doggy treats that were in the room and loved the sausage he was given for breakfast. The food was really good and although you can’t eat in the main restaurant there is a nice bar area which was ideal. We stayed in room 3 which was quite large and if you have a dog would recommend this room as you could easily walk out to the back garden without having to go through the bar area. Grounds were nice and Teddy enjoyed his walk. We also walked into the main town which was also very dog friendly and worth a visit.”

“This is our 2nd stay at the Talbot Hotel in Malton. Very friendly team of staff, and Lottie was made very welcome. Would highly recommend this Hotel for dog lovers who wish to stay in a nice part of Yorkshire.”

“Great room for all 3 of us. Breakfast excellent/dinner ate twice as we could not find a better restaurant in the Town Really ideal venue for a couple with a dog Staff fabulous towards all the dogs”

“The most dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel is full of character, situated close to the centre of town but with splendid views of the surrounding countryside and boasting a large field where your dog can roam. The staff were efficient, friendly and accommodating. The room and the premises generally were clean, spacious and well appointed. The food was very well presented and generally very pleasant (rather than spectacular). We would certainly consider visiting again or trying another dog friendly hotel in the same hotel chain.”

“This could be an excellent hotel. However, the staff were friendly but disorganised and lacked knowledge (particularly the restaurant staff). The food and drink could have better represented local produce. However, our experience on the whole was very positive and the location, rooms and hotel in general were of a high standard. We would stay again despite some negative aspects.”

“Comfortable hotel on lovely grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Lottie our lurcher was made a fuss of and she enjoyed her sausage breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend a stay here.”
