Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? If there were any negatives, the room was rather warm. We were in one of those on the front with fantastic views out across the grounds. It's a very old house so something that is difficult to rectify. There was a fan in the room that helped. A room at th
We were made to feel extremely welcome on our recent visit to The Talbot. We stayed on the 3 for 2 offer at the start of September. All of the staff loved the dogs and made them feel welcome and comfortable and always said hello and had a cuddle. The dogs loved their breakfast sausages and their treats in the room! The hotel is fantastically placed as it is only a short walk along the road and you are in the middle of Malton, The large grounds make it feel rural however and there was plenty of space for dog exercise and sitting out to enjoy the late summer sunshine. We had breakfasts, afternoon tea and a Sunday dinner at the hotel, both of which were very good. There was plenty of space to eat with your dogs in the doggie dining room or bar as well as there being another dining room, so room to spread if your dog doesn't get on too well with others! As well as enjoying a few of the pubs in town (Malton is extremely dog friendly!) we visited Castle Howard and Sledmere House. Overall a very enjoyable minibreak!

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Not just dog friendly, dogs are welcome anywhere but the resturaunt, but there is a very nice bar area, and snug type room where you can eat or chill out with a drink and your dog
We stayed at the Talbot with my friend and her partner for a couples weekend break. From the start of our stay we were greeted by Martin the manager and his lovely staff. My dog is raw fed and they were able to accommodate for this by keeping his food refrigerated for us. The fields within the grounds of the hotel were secure and perfect for the dogs to run around, a dog bed, food and water bowl and treats were provided for the dogs in the room. The food was excellent with a good choice on the menu, the dogs were even given sausage at breakfast, ( unfortunately my dog is not keen on sausages tho) so he had some of my bacon instead. The staff were not only friendly and attentive to both humans and dogs, they were also able to recommend dog walks and dog friendly places to visit. The rooms were clean, not easy when you have dogs staying, and the bathrooms nicely fitted out. Bathrobes, slippers and toiletries were provided along with bottled water, tea making facilities and biscuits and chocolate in the room daily. There is a nespresso coffee machine in the room too. The beds are super comfy and we were more than happy, we will definitely be visiting again

Very stunning looking Hotel on the edge of Malton with views over the Derwent Valley. Lovely dog friendly gardens. Our room overlooked the gardens but was way too Hot. The large window only opened about 3in and there was no air conditioning, the room the first 2 nights was about 25 degrees, too hot for us and the dogs. The hotel provided a very small desk fan which honestly made no difference. For a hotel of this standard, you would think the room would be cleaned and beds made up every day, no they only replaced the water bottles and the Tea and coffee ! It transpires that you have to ask them to do this which is in the small print in the desk guide, not mentioned at check-in. There was also no doggie pack in the room but they did get their sausage at breakfast after reminding the staff. Waiting Staff in the Bar & restaurant were very good. No information was provided on walks or things to do in the area. Car parking was terrible, For 2 days we were unable to park in the hotel car park due to outside guests coming for dinner. Bar prices were higher than London, £6 for a pint and £3 for a coke ! Overall a very overpriced hotel and not great value for money. We wont be returning.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Some bedrooms could do with an upgrade
Just having returned from the Talbot we have mixed feelings, the positives are that it was so dog friendly they couldn’t have done more for guests with dogs, the staff were great and so friendly and breakfasts were good and dogs could dine with you which was a bonus, on a negative side a family with small children were put in the room above us causing a lot of noise so almost impossible to get any rest until they were asleep, also the evening meal we had 1 night was terrible such a shame when this hotel has so much to offer

What a very pleasant surprise we had staying at the Talbot. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable with all the needed facilities The view from our room across the Wolds was breathtaking. The breakfasts are to die for and the one dinner we had was really really good. The staff are all really friendly and chatty and they all made a huge fuss of our Westie. (Alfie) The place is really well geared up for dogs, with dog beds , treats and feeding bowls in the room. But no doggy smells! Best of all though from Alfie’s perspective was his doggy breakfast sausage. Presented on a separate plate with watercress. By day two he had it worked and was hopping about in expectation of his sausage Very highly recommended

Myself and my partner and our cocker stayed from Thursday till Sunday, the staff are tremendously friendly and most loved Blu our dog , the breakfast was exceptional just that on the last day Blu got the offer of a sausage for breakfast from the manager who wasn’t afraid to muck in and serve breakfast, we ate in the bar area with the dog for breakfast which was nice and 1 evening left Blu in the car ( windows down) while we had a meal in the restaurant, yet again very lovely, the room was replenished every day with bottled water biscuits and chocolate which was a lovely touch , the only downfall was the pesky wasps outside on the terrace while you’re eating / drinking , I think they need to strategically place some honey pots away from the terrace so they all swarm there , all in all we will definitely go again, very peaceful!

We were stunned by this beautiful hotel and it’s fabulous setting right in the centre of Malton. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, very clean and ideally situated for easy to the access to the garden area. So many little extras, chocolate, biscuits, even the rubber duck for your bath tub, everything to make your stay feel special. Roxy our Border Terrier wasn’t left wanting either with a large dog bed, bowls and gourmet treat bag especially prepared to her dietary requirements. Breakfast was delicious and Roxy enjoyed her own sausage supplied directly from the kitchen as she dined with us for breakfast. We are already planning to return here in the very near future.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog, it was the first time we have stayed in a hotel with a dog and it was so easy. Both of us and our dog were made to feel welcome. All of the staff were very helpful and always available. Our room was beautiful, very big, spotless and very comfortable. The breakfasts and evening meals were tasty and good value. Lola especially liked her breakfast sausage! There is a large field next to the hotel where dogs can safely have a runaround. We will definitely be back.
