“The Talbot is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed. The hotel itself has been beautifully restored and the grounds were amazing especially for dog walking. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to help. Particular mention to the manager for whom nothing was too much trouble. Certainly the best dog friendly hotel we have stayed as they could accompany us to most of the hotel areas inclyding one restaurant area and the bar. The bedroom was beautiful and so clean. The food in the restaurant was very nice and had enough choice for us to eat there for the 3 nights of our stay. We can fully recommend this hotel.”

“Our stay at The Talbot was great. A spacious room, friendly staff & good food. We particularly recommend the ox cheeks. Delightful. Our dog enjoyed walking on the hotel's large lawns, as well as the various town footpaths- in particular the walk & field at the site of the old Roman fort.”

“Lovely place to stay with staff who are attentive and dog lovers too. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean and done up in a "faded chic" style which is nice. Great bath lotions etc of good quality. Excellent breakfasts and the one dinner we has was also excellent. Lot of stairs in the building and no obvious lift but didn't matter to us. Alfie the Westie loves this place withmany lovely places to visit locally. We fell in love with Filey and it's glorious beach”

“What a fabulous hotel..both our dogs were as excited and thrilled as we were..As we chose the 4 poster room, it was one of the biggest..over looking the beautiful lawn,which we used to run the dogs on each day...breakfast was served in the dog friendly dining room,both dogs got there own sausage too..evening meal was also served there to so we didn't leave the dogs alone at all...happy to not use the car,we walked around the town,which 90% of places were also dog friendly..very good value booking through Pets in Pyjamas..well certainly go back or try another of the fantastic offers..”

“We stayed at the Talbot for 3 nights and had a fabulous room. The staff went beyond their normal duties to make our stay really enjoyable. The food was delicious and so beautifully presented. They have a huge grass area for our dog Poppy to run around and the staff warmly catered for her needs too. We will definitely be returning.”

“We have stayed in many of these hotel chains , and have always been really impressed, however this was the worst one ever , very short staffed , everywhere wanted a good clean , most of the staff really didn’t want to be there . Not impressed will definitely not go back .”
