“Great hotel with everything you could need. The package we had was great as in included breakfast, evening meal and a cream tea. Food and service were both great, dogs had a welcome box and had a sausage for breakfast every day. Close to Whitby, York and Scarborough. The only reason I didn’t give a five star review was because the checkout was a bit stressful. I had to prove what I had paid for the stay and other people had put drinks on our room. Made me feel like I was trying to de - fraud them! But otherwise a fantastic few days away.”

“Fabulous stay here with mum and her dog. The staff made our dog so welcome really engaging with her and treating her which made us feel at ease. Other guests said the same- all equally impressed. Lovely room, ambiance and food was beautiful- will definitely come back.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at The Talbot, the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and great with our pet labrador. Our room was very spacious, comfortable king size bed, lovely bathroom, tea and coffee supplies plentiful, lovely shortbread biscuits, bottles of water left in the room each day, Dyson hairdryer, bath robes and slippers, really nice decor, and a window seat to look out at the gorgeous view. We were on the ground floor with easy access to the garden. The bar area was really cosy, comfy seats, we ate at the hotel and food was very good, dogs are allowed in the bar area, breakfast delicious, good vegetarian breakfast and a sausage for our labrador each day. We would definitely recommend The Talbot and would stay here again. Malton is a good place to stay and within easy reach of the coast, and other places of interest, slightly disappointed that quite a few pubs have closed and of the ones that were open they didn't serve food on Monday and Tuesday and some didn't do food at all, found a good pub /restaurant in Old Malton which had South African food on the menu.”

“Excellent hotel. Food very good. Ate there 2 out of 3 nights. Beautiful grounds. There are doggie menus. Rosie our dog had a sausage every morning. All of the restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly and the cleaning lady. Dog bowls and treats were in the bedroom. There is a separate dining room for yourself and furry friends beside the bar. Our 2nd visit. Will definitely be returning.”

“Fantastic dog friendly hotel, great breakfast and perfect location for touring North Yorkshire and the railway station is only 10 mins walk away, if you want to leave the car at home.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Restaurant and bar staff friendly although breakfasLt service very slow. Food nice but nothing worthy of note. I had to score them low on the welcome at reception. Rather miserable with no smile at any point during our stay. There was no record of our afternoon tea and dinner reservations and the afternoon tea in the Pets Pyjamas package had become cream tea. I didn’t want cream tea and it cost us £27 to upgrade to afternoon tea and although we had requested this on arrival on our booking they couldn’t accommodate until the following day. This didn’t necessarily spoil our holiday and where the breakdown in communication was I don’t know but perhaps it’s better to book yourself than use a third party and then you can better deal with these issues.
