“Stopped here to break our journey home from our holiday. We were met by very friendly staff and our room was very comfortable with a bathroom that had a great shower and lovely soft towels.We had a celebrity meal for my birthday which was a bit disappointing but this has already been addressed by the hotel.Breakfast was very good with a great selection. The staff are very friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? This is our go to stopover on our trips to and from Scotland. Great choice

“Beautiful room. Large comfortable. Had a great night sleep after a long drive. Evening meal was delicious. Lovely breakfast to set us on our way. But best of all- the staff. Everyone we met was friendly charming and made a real fuss of our little dog. Perfect. Thank you.”

“The Bear’s Paw is perfect in every way!. The rooms were really nice clean and modern with dog treats, bowls, and sleeping mat supplied. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance of the place was truly relaxing and comfortable. The dogs are allowed everywhere and we enjoy both Dinner and Breakfast with our dog, the food was wonderful. The location is beautiful and the walks from the front door were picturesque. I would recommend The Bear’s Paw to anyone and will undoubtedly be returning.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Restaurant: My husband asked what potatoes were provided with his suet pudding for the main meal which the girl was unsure about. He requested mashed potatoes but when the meal arrived it already came with mash and we were given extra mash which we didn't touch. The bill came and £4.75 had been added for the extra mash. We paid as we hadn't realised it was extra and felt wrong querying it when we'd asked for mash. The staff should know what is served with each meal and she should have come back to check, rather than us being embarrased when the bill came.

“This was a lovely pub and the room was comfortable. Everyone made a fuss of our three dogs and they loved the attention. However, the room description was "which includes provision of a comfy dog bed and locally-sourced dog treats." There was one waterproof padded cushion which was approximately 90 x 50 cm. Given we had booked three dogs this seemed very inadequate and could not be described as "comfy" in any language. I requested extra beds and was promised them before bed but they were not there by the end of the night. As I'd read the description I left our beds at home as this is quite a lot to bring for three dogs so this was disappointing. We also had to ask for the dog treats as these were not in our room.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Bedroom was cold despite hot radiator. We were given an extra duvet.

“2nd visit this time with another couple and their dog. My Tedi was remembered and his insulin was placed in the Champagne fridge Wonderful hotel and special venue for celebration short holiday.”
