Looking for a short break somewhere in the Essex/Norfolk/Suffolk area and Pets Pyjamas suggested The Westleton Crown as an option for a Sunday-Tuesday break. Good price for the trip and about a 2-hour drive from home in East London. Arrived around 7.30 pm on Sunday evening and were able to get dinner, shortly after arriving, the kitchen due to close at 8.30. Options of various roast dinners and bar food like fish and chips, the roast pork was good and the whole place is dog-friendly, in other places we have stayed the dog has not been allowed in the restaurant which limited our eating choices but here the staff are dog welcoming. The next morning's breakfast was in the restaurant and a very happy dog was the recipient of a breakfast sausage from the hotel as well as plenty of attention from the staff. There was a good selection of breakfast options, multiple items on the continental offering and a variety of cooked options as well. The component parts were of good quality and tasty. During the night we noticed that the glass shelf above the toilet was on a bit of a slant so notified reception and it was looked at the same day, this gave the dog another opportunity to make more friends. The village is very pretty and there's a little church with a hay meadow off the back for local dog walks. We decided to visit Dunwich and Framlingham Castle from The Westleton Crown. We had a really enjoyable stay and will look to visit again soon, a great introduction to Suffolk for me and the dog though my partner had visited the county before.

Very impressed with The Westleton Crown. Room was very clean and well furnished. All staff we came into contact with were friendly, attentive and helpful. Our dogs were made to feel very welcome - they particularly enjoyed the sausages served to them after breakfast and dinner! The food in the restaurant (for humans) was very good as well. In addition, Westleton is a beautiful traditional village and well placed for visiting Southwold and Aldeburgh which are both lovely resorts.

Really enjoyed our night away at The Westleton Crown. They left treats in our room for our pup, a towel, dog bed and a bowl. Every single member of staff made us feel welcome and gave our dog a fuss which was lovely. I know it’s a dog friendly place but having the staff interact with our dog really made it feel like they were happy to have him there as much as us. We were also able to have our dog with us for dinner and breakfast so we didn’t have to worry about leaving him in the room. Our room was located inside the pub upstairs and didn’t experience any noise from downstairs. The food was absolutely delicious at both dinner and breakfast. I’d definitely recommend staying here and we’d definitely stay again

Just had a wonderful couple of nights at the Westerton Crown, our two dogs were so well catered for, doggie beds, bowls, towels and treats were all in our room waiting for us and the dogs were welcome to dine with us too. The staff at the Westerton Crown were all very accommodating and professional. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Helpful checking procedure, and although our room was the cheapest, was love,y with all we needed. The hotel was the most Dog friendly we've ever stayed in, one big plus point our Dog was allowed everywhere. We stayed for our wedding anniversary, so booked a table. The meal prices were a little high, but as it was a treat, that was fine. But such a shame as service was not good. We were offered a different table than the one booked, in the lovely conservatory, which at first didn't seem a problem being as we were offered it. But after that we were ignored, the tap water was luke warm and had to chase up our food and drinks. Our main meal was very tasty, but tepid. But by this time felt we couldn't keep asking, and put a slight tampner on our special meal. We weren't charged for my husbands second beer. Such a shame as couldn't fault anything else. Breakfast was very good value, b staff seemed rushed and when I asked about tea/coffee were told"well you've all come down at the same time" I spite of this will book another time and hopefully any issues will be resolved.

I have already put a review on Trip Advisor re our recent visit to this hotel. The rooms were small (and somewhat dark due to the colours used) however they were very clean and had some lovely features. The food in the restaurant was much better than the three stars the hotel holds and the lamb I had the first night was delicious. It is well situated near Aldeburgh and Southwold and has some lovely walks for your furry friends who are made welcome throughout the hotel. Ours loved the fact that he was offered a sausage at breakfast, but less delighted that we wouldn't let him have one everyday (he is a Chihuahua). The staff were helpful and friendly and we would stay there again,.
