Replacing cavity wall ties
The patented Easi-Fix neoprene wall tie is simply installed into a pre-drilled 10mm pilot hole. The unique auto key (provided in our DIY wall tie kit) is attached to a drill driver and placed over the end of the replacement wall tie onto the brass nut. Then you can tighten the wall tie slowly with the drill.
Once the internal end of the replacement wall tie is tightened, the brass nut will then run down the thread on the outer side and tighten the external fixing. The tie at this point is fixed and you are ready to move onto the next hole. When you’ve installed all your ties at the required spacing, you can be confident that structural integrity has been restored.
All Easi-Fix replacement wall ties should be installed in accordance with the advice given in BRE Digest 329 and BRE Digest 401.
