Positive Pressure System for properties without lofts
The Monsoon Energysaver Positive Pressure System Wall unit is designed to reduce condensation in properties without lofts. These PIV units gently introduce heated air into a home to help tackle condensation and mould issues. You can install the unit on a hallway wall and it will start to take effect. If your home has a loft space, you should opt for the Monsoon Positive Pressure Loft Fan.
How positive pressure systems work
Positive pressure fans work by gently pressurising your home and increasing air circulation throughout. This helps alleviate condensation and improve general air quality. By tackling condensation, you reduce the risk of mould and damp developing within your home. These wall-mounted units have various running speeds that you can easily select. Depending on the number of rooms you have, the unit will automatically adjust the flow rate accordingly. The Energysaver Positive Pressure fan also contains a heater unit. This heats the incoming air, preventing cold draughts. The unit also features G4 Filters that remove unwanted pollutants from outside such as pollen and dust. This makes these Energysaver units particularly good for individuals that suffer with allergies and respiratory conditions.
Condensation and Mould Control
By increasing circulation throughout your home, Positive Pressure Systems help reduce condensation. This helps prevent issues with mould and damp. If you are already experiencing issues with mould, the Energysaver Positive Pressure Fan will help your property dry out. You can then treat the mould more effectively (see our guide to removing mould from walls).
Installing a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan
These positive pressure wall units are designed for ease of installation. The unit should be installed in a central hallway. It is designed with flexibility in mind so can be installed in four different orientations. With each orientation, you have the option to install the unit so air can enter through the back or the side and leave through the front or the side.
These units should be installed by a qualified electrician.Note: The fans are double insulated and do not require an earth.
