The industry has a standard put in place to assess the purity of fish oil and algal oil: the TOTOX value. The TOTOX value indicates the freshness and quality. The lower the TOTOX value, the better the quality.
Less than 10 means it’s very good quality. Less than 5 - it's extremely high quality. Our Omega-3 has a TOTOX value of 2. So the quality you're getting is incredibly high. But you know that already!

A 2021 study found that high doses of DHA omega-3 can improve meibomian gland dysfunction after a period of 8 weeks. I believe the dosage of DHA administered in the study was 1640 mg per day, so a really high dose. Which makes it even better to hear that you're feeling an improvement from our 540mg.
Thanks also for highlighting the sustainability element of our algae based omega-3. A lot of people think you have to get omega-3 from fish, but in reality, the fish get it from the algae they feast on!

Fay, you're absolutely right. There are so many benefits in taking an omega-3.
Another one to add to that list is cognitive function. A study published last year indicated that among healthy older adults, increased levels of omega-3 are associated with better memory, processing speed, and structural brain measures. So it's giving whole-body, top-to-toe benefits. Definitely one for the 'must-not-miss' list!

“Tried these before and seemed very good but found a cheaper alternative so thought I'd try them and but they kept repeating on me and my partner so got an after taste every time. Have started back with these as easier to swallow and no after taste. cheaper not always better, these are best we've found!”
Kevin, we really appreciate this review. It's so true, unfortunately there's usually a compromise somewhere isn't there. Thanks for highlighting there's no aftertaste. In some supplements, even if the capsule itself tastes ok, there’s often some unpleasant (fishy) gastric side effects later on!
