You purchased the wrong type of towel. The towels you received are sports and beach towels, which are designed to be lightweight and compact. This makes them ideal for travel as they pack down very small. If you were looking for a thicker option, I would recommend our Microfibre Bath Towel, specifically designed for use in the bathroom and has a much thicker texture.
