“This is a gift box. It being a gift, I would have preferred the person receiving it not to have been greeted with branding, then more branding. Ideally, they would then be able to take the contents easily from it too.
The outer of the box has the Papier logo front and centre. Opening the box, there is a paper presentation sleeve wrapped around the book which is held closed with a sticky label, also boasting the Papier logo. For your lucky recipient, the contents are a mystery, but there's no doubt where they came from: Papier.
The label has a very strong tack, more akin to a permanent label, making it very hard to open the sleeve to check the contents of the book before gifting it. Peeling it without damaging the paper sleeve feels awkwardly risky and once I had, the label looked as labels do when you've peeled and reused them. You can avoid this by removing the book with its sleeve from the box as one, then sliding the book from within.
The book fitted so tightly in the box that I had to use the paper sleeve to pull it out.”
