I find Roger Hurkmans dioramas very compelling indeed. I would be so proud to have built one of them, let alone the number Roger has completed. I love his vehicle painting style, his scratch built buildings and all of his figure work. I also hugely admire Mirko Bayerl’s amazing research of the 1944/45 period of the war in the East, his artistic abilities and his stunning modelling. This book covers several of Roger’s dioramas and one of Mirko’s dioramas, all in some detail and for me that package is truly worth every penny. I would like to have had more information on his figure painting technique, which I think is superb, but you get such a lot of other things with this book. I only hope we may get a second volume from these two modellers!
